A pointless and irrelevant stat. The previous 12 months under him saw us win 19 games and draw 6, 63 points which would have see us finish 6th and qualify for Europe in either of the two seasons of that calendar year.
Those two back to back years personify the Palace rollercoaster ride to me, wouldnt have it any other way.
2015 was an incredible year, 2016 was awful on paper, but we still managed to stay up and got to a cup final in the middle of it.

But the start of 16/17 was poor so Pardew got the sack.
Which is what happens in the Premiership nowadays.
Lose and your out.

Agreed, previous poster says the 6 wins in 38 stat is meaningless however it would not matter which point in Pardew's tenure that run of 6 wins in 38 came, he would still have been sacked. If anything, his fast start gave Parish the predicament of how long to hold onto him. A lot of teams would have given up on him a lot earlier into that run of defeats.

Too many posters on here take it personally, but if your a goal scorer and you never score goals, or a defender who can't defend, or keeper who can't catch, then you are going to get sacked. Pardew lost the knack of winning games so he had to go. Simples.

Words fail me, but any other club would have given him the boot a long, long time before we did.

He should have gotten better results then

The preceding seasons end, had it not been for an FA Cup final, would have seen him sacked, as well. From Jan 2016 until he was sacked, our form was dogs**te

A fair point. And difficult to argue against that. My point is not "he did not deserve to be fired" but " he does not deserved to be hated here, we had great times under him as well as the bad run"

please explain how he was s***, kept us up every season, took us to a cup final and created a very, very good squad on what was effectivly a meagre budget in PL terms.

But, if rumours are to believed, he got rid of or sidelined the strong personalities as he wanted to be king pin. Texting women when meant to be taking training (allegedly) goes some way to suggesting he does not promote harmony within the camp...watch this space West Brom

But to carry your argument through, you have to show that - outside the posh clubs - the 12/13 clubs in our division have substantively superior second XIs.

My point is that some may have; others may not; some are roughly as good as ours; all have bought expensive rubbish; and our 25 improves every window.

Also, you have neatly side-stepped the fact that we are an unfashionable club with a collection of Nissan huts for infrastructure who are prudent with their business [unlike Russian oligarch ego vehicles like Bournemouth] and won't just chuck £zillions into the player pot. Thus, we have a pretty good First XI; but no-one of that quality will kick their heals in our reserves.

A new ground; new training facilities; established mid-table status; and slow and careful improvement in the squad and the reserves will fill with players the like of Townsend, Ward and McCarthy as they get pushed out by even better acquisitions and [fingers crossed] youth players.

It will happen at a sensible pace without saddling our beloved club with an unsustainable debt burden.

Hmm, the Daily Star view on why we hate Pardew.

Most of what has been said in criticism of AP is rubbish. However, this Pardew supporter struggles with one criticism. I believe he was downed not by coaching skills but by serious injury absences. Many of those injuries were sustained in training. Was this down to his training methods or just poor damn luck?

I don't know. Thing is, those who cite this point don't know either. Yet that doesn't stop them presenting it as a fact.

The first time we came face to face against Pardew at another club, the matter was always going to be revisited, which it was here.

If you don't want to discuss it, ignore and dont get involved with the thread in the first place - simple!
