I listen to quite a lot of the 'league of nerds' youtube podcasts which tackle and debunk conspiracy theories.....I pretty much agree with them on all of these as they are applying rationality and logic onto what evidence exists.

However, one topic they haven't tackled so far is the McCann's case. I don't blame them....because when you look into it without a bias you find that there are genuine troubling issues.

I started out with all the biases on this case that most of us had for it. I'm not a homicide detective and I have that privilege. But over time lots of points have been made that haven't been answered and I think it needs looking at again with more balanced eyes. Not wallies abusing the McCanns on twitter but a look at the actual evidence.

I contacted 'the league' on twitter about it......who knows.

What are the opinions of Hol members on this case?

I've always thought that they knew something more than they were letting on whether it's just that she died due to their neglect that they have been trying to cover up or something worse.

The sniffer dog evidence points towards a possible accident perhaps that they have covered up.....the abductor evidence looks thin at best.

Spent a lot of those donations on prosecutions of those writing books that go against them.....lost their main case.

Totally agree ME. Having left them alone I believe there may have been an accidental overdose of sleeping drugs and then a cover up. I also feel that Mr McCann never seemed to react in a way you would expect from a father in these circumstances. I do suspect that he may be a leading figure in the masons, having had dealings with how they work.
With regard to the abduction, why would the 2 younger children be taken? surely easier to carry?
All in all very sad state of affairs and I doubt that the truth will ever be known

I would like to know who the last person to see Maddie alive was, other than the McCans. Was it on the day she disappeared and when.

I haven't read the story in forensic detail but it seems the timeline comes from the McCans.

Would like to say more but it is speculation.

Would've been a pretty efficient, organised disposal of the body within hours. Did they do that? Had they disappeared for hours at some point?

Did they get someone else to do it? How do you find someone abroad in body disposal in within a few hours? There'd be substantial amounts of money leaving their bank accounts, or just the father's, and likely blackmail.

I think the failure of the Portuguese police to properly investigate the disappearance of a child with two streams of inquiry; and consequently effectively rule out the family, has led to a situation where its always a possibility.

When investigating an 'abduction' / 'murder' its vital to investigate all scenarios, and rule out suspects (which includes the family and friends), whilst pursuing an line of investigation into the possibility of a stranger.

Because in truth, its rare for someone to be murdered or abducted by someone they don't know or have a relationship with.

They were left alone at the start yeah.

They did leave with their hire car. I don't think they involved other people in those acts......more like their friends covered for them on the accident and didn't expect it all to blow up....and now are implicated if it's all revealed.

This is certainly something I'm 60/40 on.....there is a lack of evidence for an abduction.

I am pretty certain they are innocent based on the facts. The idea that a world renowned heart doctor abd an anaesthetist could mess up something as simple as sedating a small child is quite frankly ridiculous. So is the idea that they would then make a decision to hide the body instead of just making up an excuse. Finally the idea that an ordinary couple would be capable of then hiding the body so effectively that is never found is again ridiculous.

Kind of what I use to think.

You should look into the criticisms on the actual evidence.

I stayed in Praia da Luz in October so read up about the case and even walked past the complex on my way to the supermarket.

There's definitely a few odd parts to the case:
one where Mrs McCann runs back to alert the rest of the group of friends about the abduction - leaving the younger 2 (again) and not using a mobile phone...

The 2nd is the reaction of the cadaver dogs when sniffing the hire car - the Portuguese police were pretty certain that doesn't happen randomly.

It's certainly an odd case and I hope one day all the facts come out.

Some facts I know of:
Firstly I wish this had never happened and that I never heard of Madelaine McCann.

I was in Luz two weeks after and saw the yellow ribbons in the church etc.

They could have had a baby sitter for
10€ an hour but decided they didn't want to leave the kids with a stranger.

The kids were left alone like this for more than one night as witnesses heard them crying on at least one more night.

Reports of Maddie's age were of a three year old and by birthday age yes but she was one month shy of four.a big difference in their thought process and ability to solve issues.

I write this because her thoughts would have been to try to calm her crying and distraught siblings.

A number of scenarios could have played out that night and I keep them to me alone I'm afraid.
I'm just saying what I know and was told.

Personally something doesn't ring true with the whole case IMO.

On a minor note the events did lead to the loss of jobs for a majority of the complex staff due to the downturn in business.
This due to two very stupid, selfish and totally arrogant parents; whom I believe are fortunate to be in the upper echelons of society or would now be childless.
