This a tragic case but it's hard to take any accusations of 'racism' seriously anymore because the term has been completely watered down and misappropriated.

I no longer trust our institutions to be reasonable.

The Macpherson Report is discredited in my eyes. Its famous remark has become a bandwangon term.

However, if this man was badly treated by the authorities, as has happened to many people, then this is a matter of regret.

He's not the first and he wouldn't be the last. I don't trust our current institutions so I just don't know if what happened here was incompetence or racism or overwork or just bad luck or any combination of the above.

I agree it's a very sad case and I feel sympathetic towards his outcome.
But there are hundreds of cases just like this that has nothing to do with race.
How many ex partners of abusive relationship have been killed because the police did nothing, how many cases of neighbors from hell making people's lives misery.....it's not about race ..it's about incompetent policing.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

The report is pretty damning and would not come to the conclusions it did lightly.

As soon as race is mentioned,I wonder if it had been another poor abused woman.there would have been this outcry.

Always appalled me that story but I don't know why they pursued the race angle in this inquiry when officers were prosecuted last year and there were no racial aspects in the charges against the killer, whose rabid motivation was the mistaken belief that Bijan was filming his kids, and I'd imagine this was shared by the officers. An ignorance which has rightly seen them also imprisoned.

On the other hand if you're going to assume they don't have the resource to investigate, which was the claim at the time you'd expect them to leap a bias against thick racist chavs. But we wouldn't want that.

When we talk about institutional racism, it's often implied that it applies in society in general which forms our white privilege so maybe we should just take that on the chin and save a few quid on these inquiries.

Police fail countless children in predominantly northern towns as not to upset Muslims. I'd say that's pretty damning as well ....

Well, it's the racism charge that directly enabled those crimes in those northern towns.

People with mortgages to pay suddenly become reluctant to fall foul of these self righteous bigots and their 'protected' classes of race victims.

People in jobs should be judged upon their actions, not on how well they subscribe to political ideologies.

No. It demonstrates how identity politics is causing resentment among regular people.

I'd already addressed the death of this guy.....you want me to continually virtue signal like you do? I responded to a point.

There isn't that much more to say other than has been said.
