benteke is not finished, he is 27 years old FFS. hea not perfect i know that, but in the 4 games this season the oppo goalkeepers have made some serious saves to keep his headers out in every game.

he has also missed some sitters but he wont score every chance, if he did he would be playing for citeh/barca/real.

we are palace, a small PL club, we cant afford kanes/agueros/lakakus/salahs, we are where we are, and i still think bentekkers will get 12-15 goals this season.

We cannot afford to squander chances and so we can’t be waiting for Benteke to regain his confidence. He needs to be dropped !!

Sorry if already been mentioned, he needs to build confidence and if nothing changed in a few more games can he be loaned out? Maybe try Villa where he did fairly well and then if he scores a few we can decide whether to have back or see if they want to make a decent offer in January??

12/15 goals? On what evidence. 3 goals last year , one header straight at schmeical that went in and a penalty. . He’s played 4 games this year , no goals , loads of chances.
Hope you are right. But you’re not, you’re wrong unfortunately.

Confidence is a key determinant of success as a striker, and everybody associated with Palace, be they management, coaching staff, pundits and fans KNOWS that Christian Benteke needs only 1 or 2 goals to re-gain the confidence to compete as our lead striker.

To drop him from the starting line-up would be discouraging and unhelpful. On the other hand if he were to spend a few weeks gaining confidence in the 'second 11' games he might return stronger and mentally prepared.

I don't think its a case of signing Sako "until January", its signing Sako "from" January, ie transfer window
