Agreed. That said I don't think we got that many shooting chances as Everton setup deep enough that we were always going to struggle to get that many. It was all headers or knock ons really. I don't think we're as bad as we looked yesterday, including Benteke, shot wise. Dare I say it but Everton defended against ground play well. What caused them problems was crosses and long balls. Also no one has pointed out that Benteke's overhead kick was goal bound before Ashley Williams saved it. See replays, it's clear as day. Edited by FairweatherEagle (11 Feb 2018 11.49am)

Compare nicking the ball off Scott Dann for villa compared to now. You can question his defensive workrate. We have to use him, that's true, but sell him asap.

I don't think it's getting personal the fans expect more from Benteke he gets paid enough the chances he's missing a striker from a pub Sunday league can and probably scores take him out of the situation and put Sorloth up top with wilf when he's back fit the way he put himself about yesterday he looks good given abit of time wilf could get the best out of him the sooner the better i think until Benteke gets back to his form what can justify getting paid £120.000 a week cause the way he is at the moment he should be on bench let's try something new see how it works out i no its probably a quick fix with the amount of matches left i say it again Sorloth should have started when we first signed him. His blind support of Benteke in the face of tons and tons of evidence that the player is not worthy to wear that shirt. Peace.

He's been in a rut most of the season, with both his feet and head, summed up in the 2 games against Everton. In November he placed a shot wide when should of hit the target at 2-2 and then yesterday placed a header wide at 2-0 when again all he had to do was hit the target. Both times hitting the target would of been a goal. The header particularly, where he seemed to wish to power it in where a simple nod on target would of been enough. Think he is trying, desperately wants to score, hence grabbing for the penalty take, but maybe rushing at things which is making matters worse for him. Wrighty mentioned in the Bournemouth match that his timing was a little off although Osman seemed to not think so yesterday. Perhaps it is more to do with his decision making in front of goal ? I know this is going to be unpopular but I don't think he is playing that bad . He is not scoring ok that's his job as people say. But as Roy says when we score we score as a team , when we win we win as a team when we lose we lose as a team. He is not not scoring on purpose. It did look to me yesterday that he is carrying a knee injury as he wasn't moving freely . Maybe I'm wrong . I da na .But I do know if he gets a hat trick against Brighton he will achieve hero status on HOL . Let's get behind the man and the team and support them instead of slagging them off all the time.
