I'd ask them if they wanted the rest, or to play, individually. Regardless of it being Brighton, its a nothing game if we put out a weaker side. Same for them. Sure, if you start to progress it means a lot - which is why its often better to go out early, rather than have divided focus.

Its a mickey mouse rivalry anyhow, contrived by the clubs in the 70s to raise their profile.

Its not like its Millwall. That's derby and rivalry. How many Palace fans live around and work with Brighton fans - next to none. The same aint true of Millwall.

I said earlier that I'd like to see some of teh kids be given a chance but forgot about Phillips...good shout.

Playing Phillips would also allow us to play a 3-5-2 system which i think TFM and Wanbissika would both thrive in..I know the U18's are playing 3 at the back, not sure if the U23's are though.

In which case don't risk any senior players - because we'd lose.

Sako, PvA and Riederwald are all worthy starters. I expect Roy will rest Cabaye and Wilf. I hope he'll also consider giving Tomkins, MacArthur and Andros a break too. Why not give the Philips boy a go in central defence? We cant afford any more injuries there. And isn't there a young right back we could check out too?

I think Goldfinger's line-up makes a lot of sense. But I'd keep Luka, is WanBissaka up to it?

Jules

TFM - Phillips - Damo - Souare

WanBissaka - Luka - Riedewalde - PVA

RLC

Sako

I'd certainly agree with only playing this system if we made major changes...which is what I referred to earlier; and why i suggested it as the kids play this system.

In any case I certainly wouldn't want to risk Tomkins or Kelly at the moment...both should be given a well earned rest....and the run out for Damo could be what he needs in case he's called upon.

I'd prefer it if we rested our first choice players. They need a break after a busy December and really we should be focusing on the League rather than the cup this season. IMO.

You'd be surprised! Having been raised in Croydon, I now live in Sussex, and I know more Brighton season ticket holders than Palace. In fact of the Palace fans I know, many live on the south coast, or at least well south of croydon. I've been a regular since the 70s, and I feel far more passion about Brighton than I do Millwall

Didn't Big Sam take the players away for a few days in the sun? Seemed to do us good as we went on to beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool which saved us from the drop.

I think the TV cameras will end up pretty disappointed that they picked this game.

The squad is evidently hanging by a thread and there's no guarantee we'll make signings in January. Brighton will be thinking exactly the same thing.

Given the way the PL forced an extra game over Christmas, I'd be surprised if we didn't see 180+ changes from the 20 PL teams for this weekend.

100% agree with Roy.

We have to be realistic and staying in the premiership has to be our priority. Yes, I appreciate it is against our biggest rivals.....but I’m going to guess that Brighton will do the same. They also have a big must win game 5 days later against West Brom.

I would give key players a few days off now to recover, rest and have some family time.
