We need a new consistent number one. Wayne watched a ball roll agonisingly past the post yesterday without even as much twitching. He hadn’t a clue that is was going the wrong side of the post(for them). Would have massively outdone all of his good work(of which there was plenty) had that been left to softly roll in. I’m not digging him out before you all start getting lairy. Just painting a picture of the reality of what happened yesterday.

Was extremely close from where I sit. You’d still have to at least start moving towards it to inspect. *Again, not digging Wayne or his performance out. Well everyone seems to accept that we could do with another goalkeeper. Neither of ours are the best in the Premiership, but they are sufficiently competent to do a job when they have a decent defence in front of them. We have to be careful that we spend our money wisely. No point buying someone who is going to be worse - we seem to have dodged a bullet with Joe Hart for example - the two we have will see us through to May, if we can’t find someone better.

When I played in goal I left everything going wide, I think the problem was that some of those pitches I played on did not have the official measurements on the goalposts .

Part of me thinks we can do this on the squad we’ve got. Not spend anymore and have a massive war chest to rebuild the squad in the summer. Would be a massive gamble but one that ultimately could pay huge dividends.

That would be the only concern.

My goodness, Parish would have to reach for the helmet and tighten the straps.
