The reason that most of these deals go down to deadline day is because the agents tell the players not to take the early offers because something better will come along. I agree, but as others have pointed out, we've only had one fit striker all season. I would have hoped/expected we would have lined up a striker to be bought at the beginning of the window to be in the squad at the earliest opportunity.
