Here's a warning about what cigar smoking could do to you...

I bought myself a pack of 10 slim panatella type cigars when I was on holiday in Greece last summer. Basically I am a non-smoker but I had a sudden craving. They only cost about £1.50. I quite enjoyed them but it was very difficult to get rid of the taste for some time after smoking one.

To me, smoking big fat cigars looks a bit affected - I always think of Ron Atkinson type figures with gold rings and orange complexions smugly puffing away.

I've got this picture of us losing to a 95th minute og at home to Brighton and the Hamlet Ad music starting up with Lyons puffing in splendid isolated oblivion on his cigar in his own little cloud of smoke to rival the jerk chicken shack

Watching us lately provides teh perfect excuse to do just that.

I have all the various types and 'vitola' of Cigars i'm gonna try, but I'm still at that stage where I feel really guilty about lighting up! I know that sounds a little odd for a 47 year old to admit but that's how it is.

I've only tried the one so far and as Pete53 said the taste lingers for a good while, so will stick to doing so either on footie tour in Portugal and Lille later this year or after a game on a Sat/Sund when the weather is nicer and i can sit outside.

I cannot recall the last time I witnessed someone smoking a cigar - or indeed a pipe.
Also don't see anyone availing of snuff.

I think it was back in the 80s when young people used to smoke cigars for aesthetic effect rather than through any real enjoyment.

Plenty of cigars for sale at Cuban airports !

A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke!

And a good cigar, rolled by a smokin’ woman, is ...?

I know only one person who takes snuff (he's about 70, I think) but don't recall any others ever.

I'm surprised that Snuff hasn't been banned like most tobacco substances. Does anyone remember Skoal Bandits the chewing baccy !!

I have to admit I had never heard of 'Skoal Bandits' until perusing this post.

On the subject of snuff, when I was much younger I witnessed much older chaps placing snuff on to the back of their hands before raising their hands towards their nostrils and sniffing it.

For the record I have never been a smoker or a user of snuff.

Is Monica Lewinsky trading on E Bay nowadays? That green thing looks like something she'd enjoy too.
