Good luck to him, I'm pleased he's done well over there but there's no guarantee he would be quite so prolific were he to return to us. The Premier League is a completely different standard to the league in Turkey.

Agreed and I suspect this is accepted worldwide.

Tosun scored 80 goals in Turkey in just over 200 appearances and Everton signed him for £27 Million but he hasn't made much impact in the PL.I believe he was Sam Allardyce's first signing at Everton.

There is no guarantee of that. But there is a guarantee that we will be out of pocket by tens of millions.
I don't even give a flying falluhah about how he's doing in Turkey. I am not happy with the business side of this deal. We should have protected ourselves against this eventuality.
It was hardly a stretch to consider there was a slight possibility he would do well.

I think if you go back to the beginning of this thread you will see that no one thought this would have been possible.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

here's a goal he scored admittedly in a friendly but in Iceland while he was still here - the touch and speed of strike through a crowd of legs is impressive, he's got something and that was identified correctly by our scouts, but for whatever reason he failed to produce for us and reached a 'Benteke' point where you lose hope

There is obviously some truth in the Turks can sign him for 6 mill or something like that, and then resell possibly at a massive profit, has Parish confirmed this, if true, could there not be a sell on clause, so we would profit, nearly all transfers of young players seem to have this, Zaha!, be surprised if there is not some kind of clause

has Parish confirmed this,

Parish never confirms anything that shows him in a poor light but there again everyone was pleased to get rid of Sorloth and the agreed terms seemed to excellent at the time.

It's easy to be wise after the event

I would be amazed if the club haven't negotiated a percentage of the sell on fee.. I know that he didn't set the world on fire but Roy gave him no game time something he has had in Turkey... Maybe we should have waited you only have to look at Ayew this season as a comparison!! The fee has been widely discussed at around 6 million but there hasn't been any official comment from the club !

Sorloth came in from the Danish league and was first thrust into the side when we had a whole host of injuries. It was a difficult situation.
Here was a player who had scored with his head and with both feet.

I cannot quite remember the game last season, although I think it was home to Wolves, Sorloth was introduced from the bench.I actually turned to some supporters seated in my vicinity and commented "There's a player in there" and I was met with derision and looks of incredulity.

I am far from surprised that he has done well in Turkey and he could well go on to perform with aplomb on a much bigger stage.
