Good to see local Thornton Heath boy Stormzy pick up British Male Solo Artist and Best British album of year last night at the Brits. Blistering performance at the end as well. Saw him at Glastonbury last summer and was well impressed. Anyone a fan? Been some great stuff coming out of south London in the last few years.

Very talented guy, who's pretty much trailblazed grime music into the UK charts and overseas. Be interesting to see the fallout from his digs at Teresa May and the Daily Mail yesterday - he has quite a lot of previous for things like that.

Which tracks would we grown ups recognise? I know nothing of Stormzy but 'Shut up' has a decent melody. 'Not that deep' also and a tour of Croydon. I can see he's against gang violence but what concerns me for the yoot is the indignant look on everyone's face in the videos. Maybe buyers can't keep a moody face on 24/7 but it doesn't strike me as healthy. It's not even political. Musical genres containing anger from decades past had a political message. I can't see this has much of one. For example, 'No future for you' being about unemployment whereas if you want it now you can get it, and release yourself from the 'it isn't possible for us' feelings, as Ashley, the black guy who graduated in the early '80s on BBC on Sunday 2 weeks ago is trying to communicate today. Well done to him though. I just don't get it. I think you're better off having a laugh rather than the group aggression.

What's the musical genre that's a kind of rap the black Africans listen to on loud on their mobiles with lyrics like 'I woke her in her lingerie in the morning, I gave it to her without warning' All about sexual prowess and women getting it as far as I can tell. Must be highly censored on radio.

This is a very strange post. Starts of incredibly condescending, then states that you know nothing of the artist then proceed to quote and comment on his work...which is it? I genuinely don't know much about him but whenever I've seen him on the tv or heard him in radio interviews he seems incredibly positive, articulate and the antithesis of your traditional 'gangsta' rapper. I enjoyed the way he reacted to his awards last night. Sheer elation. No playing it cool. No BS. Good luck to him.

It's great to see someone like Stormzy do so well, as a local boy and someone who seems grounded. Him speaking out against May, Grenfell, the Daily Mail is really admirable too, when others may keep quiet for fear of upsetting the media.

Maybe I should've said sad old, past it b@stards. There, done it. Well I've learnt something about him as an individual so thanks but the videos in angry groups are quite different to what you describe.
