If he’s handed in a transfer request it’s because he thinks they have put in a fair bid already. Wrong. Well possibly right in what Wilf thinks. They’ve offered short of the money plus players anyway and Parish can claim he wants ash only. A transfer request means the player has to be sold when the asking price is met. A serious question. Danny Mills on SSN last night explained how handing in a transfer request negates his bonuses written into his contract. So if he stays does anyone know if we are then liable to pay the bonuses written into his contract? Personally I hope we are not but I do think he'll be off in the next window if not this. No bonuses while a player has stuck to his transfer request and no loyalty bonus when he leaves. That’ll be over £5mil to Wilf. He’ll get that in signing fees for Everton and some in extra wages. He’s desperate to go because he now realises nobody else is interested apart from a club in the very early stages of building themselves into a top 4 contender. By the time they have he’ll be on the bench, past it or out of contract because nobody will match his wages.

I still think he'll go and quite frankly I hope he does. If he's not 100% committed then keeping him will be a big mistake and very bad for team morale. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with all of these noises put out there re other clubs, but its clear as you say that he's not committed anymore, and I question how much effort he'll put in if he stays.

A transfer request means he actually does want to leave so it means a lot in all fairness. It's very late in the day though. Still, a lot can change by the end of today.

He should not be allowed to dictate terms to such an extent. I wonder whether there might be something more to his late transfer request than we know about. There have been media claims that there was a gentleman's agreement that he could leave if a suitable offer was made and if Ian Holloway is to be believed (and I don't see why he wouldn't be) Parish reneges on gentleman's agreements if it suits him

Sure, he handed in a transfer but I don't think he had much choice other than to make it official. It's his career and if he wants to move on then that's his perogative. I wouldn't expect him to stay at CPFC just because he was born here. Personally I wish him all the best and hope he succeeds in his future endeavours.

And by ‘rumoured accounts’ Everton did come in with a pretty good offer of £70m plus Tosun and McCarthy, which Parish turned down? It could be that a Zaha felt let down/betrayed by this and promptly slapped in a transfer request?

Does Wilf not have a brain? I think he may not have one.
