that's my point, we are all but a one man team... what if he broke his leg, got injured etc, we would be doomed apparently. We should have looked at plan b and got it ready this summer.

fact is tho, without zaha we are worse, but with awb 50 mil and zaha 52 mil, that's a good 75-80 mil to spend on an awb and zaha replacement and then another attacking option, 25 mil on 3 players with 20 mil left over for jan or next year.

I fail to understand why we couldn't have done that, after 7 years in the prem... with all the scouts, dof, experience.. it shows we still fall short and don't know what we're doing or meant to do.

But sure, keep hold of zaha, have no plan b, don't get the best out of him, flog him in january, maybe have players lined up to replace him, maybe not... but cpfc is not just zaha fc and our place in the league should not be resting on one blokes shoulders.

You are absolutely correct, we are one dimensional with Zaha, all our attacking play is through him and frankly teams are getting wise to that, Zaha has said he wants to go, so his heart is not in it anymore as far as we are concerned. We have to learn to play without him for the future, so lets just get on with it, the fact that Parish et-al are unable to find or attract new talent says a lot about their inability to run a PL football club.

It's my understanding that the shareholders have loaned funds to the club on a pari passu basis.

Some of Parish's investment looks to have been made by means of awarding himself bonuses that haven't been taken

Ah yes, that strange move of paying Parish a bonus plus income tax and Parish paying the net bonus back to the club I think it is.

Intrigued to know if the Americans knew there might need to be investment into the team. Weíd be relegated at the time sam came in which people will forget, and actually if weíre forecasted and are losing more money this year then you get to see their view a bit more. They may be billionaires but that doesnít mean they have to throw it away. Iím more p1ssed with the main stand no doubt on hold seeing as they want to sell and thatís why they came in.

One of the main reasons main stand is on hold is objections from mayors office. I feel it is a great pity that the club did not concentrate its efforts in sorting these rather than announce the Singing section

If cpfc wanted to Iím sure they wouldíve made more progress. The Americans obviously want out. Itís fairly obvious theyíre not looking to progress the main stand. Apart from the Allardyce survival theyíve been little benefit, although that Allardyce survival was critical.

Anyway, Zaha, we need to replace him instantly, but they wonít turn £100 mil down now I donít think.

is that really how it works? The blokes come in, buy shares... invest and then want it back, all in space of what, 3 years?

More fool parish then... again

If the £45M are in shares as opposed to a loan the Americans have to sell them to a willing buyer at a price they wanted unless there is a share buy back clause obliging the club or SP to buy them back at a valuation at such and such a date.

There is no doubt that we have become too dependant on one player but we have also mortgaged ourselves to the max to survive in this league.
We need to replace aging players over the coming seasons so it seems inevitable that we will be selling Zaha as part of that. The key is timing. Wilf should be sold with two years on his contract but given the pressure he is creating, it could be sooner. He will either be given a huge pay rise or move on, but if he does go, the money must be spent wisely.

The £45 million is a loan, separate to the £50 mil I think of shares they bought in the first place.

If that £45 mil was turned into shares then Parishís diluted shares would be worth less, and I doubt heíd do that, again and again.

Youíre coming round to my prediction, only all that started at £52 million and not at £60-70 mil which Iím surprised at, although itíll only get more problematic from Zaha and his cronies the higher the bids get, regardless of when and whether we can replace then.

Iím not saying Iím right either, just that sadly this is modern football. He also clearly isnít worth £100 mil and saying heís worth that to us doesnít work for very long when you have big clubs he wants to go to offering market value and not relegation safety value. Weíll see if the PSG bid is real or not. A real bid of £100 mil due to the very far from ideal timing. The selling with 2 years left is also hoping for an ideal turn of events I just donít see happening with Zaha making it quite clear he wants to leave.

I'm not coming round to anything.

I would keep Zaha this season and next.
What the board does is another matter.

To sell Zaha, we must have deals in place for several PL standard players. No more Sorloths or aging gap fillers. Players who will take us forward for three or four seasons.

I think PSG alleged move for Zaha is subject on Naymar being sold to either Real Madrid or Barca which is also a big ask in terms of Transfer fee but still doable . If Palace gets £100 mil offer Parish would accept it as it meets the agreed criteria that apparently was agreed with him and wilf previously ie: Champions League and Transfer fee. Also this would see the Americans of the payrole and perhaps SP can rethink the longer term strategy for the club , obviously No Zaha weakens the team but we have to bite the bullit some time and a £100
mil could be the right time for the future .

I think that we should have taken the £52m plus McArthey - total £60m.
We would already have moved on.
He is and has been an amazing player for us but we always had to do without him one day - now is as good a time as any.
