Tried to do too much today to counter our physical weakness in Dann & Sakho’s absence and his saves were better than suggested.

Wayne got injured in December after two unconvincing games against Brighton and West Ham and seems to be fit one week and not the next.

If we held the ball further up the park then GK and defence would get some respite - as it is they are under constant pressure. Our midfield isn't creative and the passing is wayward, no wonder the ball keeps coming back.

Today Guaita looked very unsure of what to do whenever the ball came into the box, similar to his display in the Brighton game.
He makes me nervous,I think Wayne should come back, and I think he will.

He looked very sure of what he was doing every time just a shame it was very wrong, obviously had fantasies about being Franz Beckenbauer in the past lol

Vicente loves the spectacular and looks good but today he was totally unconvincing and knocked us out of the
cup.

The first goal he conceded was abysmal and he has already stated his intentions of unsettling the whole defence earlier coming for a ball and giving it back to Watford and then punching ot trying to taking the cross off Wan Bissaka head.

Please don't state or try to say he did well with the near post saves , one which was straight at him , and one where he just had to raise his hand .
Add to this this other goals against West Spam and Man U conceded and previous to that , is he really a proper Premier keeper ?

Yet I’ve read on here time after time after time how Wayne “shouldn’t get beaten at his near post like that”. But, guess what, he was - regularly.

Correct position & making yourself ‘big’ means any shot is more likely to hit you.

Fast reactions mean you’re more likely to get a hand to a shot hit so hard from close range.

He was infuriatingly sloppy with crosses today and, whilst I understand he might not be overly confident of a ‘makeshift’ back four, should’ve left them to deal with most..

He’s not perfect, but he’s an improvement on Hennessy.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I think he is the best of the 3 keepers. Trouble he had is those in front of him. He has confidence when Sakho and Tompkins are in front of him and that works the other way around with the back four knowing his game. The real problem is that the back four is now weak without Sakho. Not only is he missing but PVA isn’t the player his was and Schlupp is only championship standard. Dann is better than Kelly but I don’t think either of them are good enough to play alongside Tompkins the way Sakho does? Sakho will also play the ball out of defence better than they do. This helps the midfield in creating chances for the forwards. Today needed a front two, especially without Zaha playing so that the long ball out of defence had more chance of being won. We have Watford to much respect and should have had a go at them. Same as last week against Brighton. Hodgson got it wrong in both games for which he had done that before. In saying that he will hopefully get it right for Huddersfield because if he sticks with this style of play that doesn’t work without Sakho then we are in trouble getting the 6 further points we need. Really don’t think Hennessey would have made any difference today with that back four? The best of our keepers played today but he needs those in front of him and the correct style of play for us to get the results?

Had an absolutely horrendous game today. I still favour him over Wayne but if he continues to get bullied in his area like that. Might need to look to Wayne

But they were good saves... You've clearly never played in goal... In that situation you have to both, anticipate the cross and the near post shot... I'm sorry but I disagree with you... The one handed save especially was a very good save.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

We would have been in the draw for the semi with Wayne in goal

Probably the most talented of our keepers, but Jesus, he scared me yesterday, so can't imagine how our defenders feel. Surely he's had enough time to 'gel' with the defence?

I thought he had a very poor game. He seems to have no idea how to deal with a high cross ball into the box. He is a decent shot stopper. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wayne between the sticks against the terriors

Good Keeper but a lot of foreign (particularly Spanish) keepers struggle with crosses when they first arrive in the Premier league. Look at David de Gea, would anyone turn him down now?
Guaita needs time and patience. Something which is so often lacking on here.
The management recognised this against Burnley and are obviously working on it. Hodgson was criticised about playing Hennessy then but he got it spot on. It wouldn't be any surprise if it happens again this season if the opposition dictate it. Roy brought in Dean Kiely and last season he made a hell of a difference to WH who is to say he can't do the same for Guaita.

Yes good saves , but you would expect a decent keeper to save them , as I said he likes the spectacular.
His basics let him down yesterday and he cost us the vital first goal .
Perhaps a bit harsh as it was very windy, solidity and consistency make for a good keeper , and the ability to be spectacular when required makes for a great one.
Early days for him at Palace let's hope he settles down and becomes a great one for Palace.
