This is my point on players not taking a pay cut and believing owners should because they’re richer. Instead us fans are asked to donate £100 each rather than players take a cut from their £60-130k per week salaries.

It’s really down to management off the club, we got from finally paying off 35 m debt by selling AWB, to having loan £ to pay players to do sod all for 2 months .. there really has to be a reality check by bang average players taking home 2-4 mill a year .. utterly unsustainable.

How the hell clubs outside the Prem will survive this is anyone’s guess, I know the Huddersfield Chairman in an article thinks up to 60 clubs will fold without some real changes happening and tbh that may be the tip of the iceberg.

Parish makes an interesting comment that "Last month, the club took on some new external debt so that we have as much liquidity as possible to see us through this period.”

It's interesting because the debt is likely to be sizeable yet there are no new charges registered since the Aussie bank's charge last October.

This seems to imply that the new borrowings are unsecured which possibly means that perhaps the much maligned shareholders have put their hands in their pockets

My sentiments exactly, thought about donating the outstanding 160 pounds on match tickets to the academy but could not stop thinking that is roughly the equivalent of 15minutes of Benteke's wages so ended up asking for a refund.

But this isn't about what others do or don't do, it's about what us an individuals do. The Palace for Life Foundation was another option, and they are surely worthy recipients?

I see that Parish says in his Annual Review that the Wan-Bissaka money was partly used to comply with Financial Fair Play, which strikes me as very strange. I thought the effect of FFP was to hold down spending.

Our wages are huge, so it would make sense. But the AWB money was used to repay ’loans’ back to the US shareholders.

Do we know that or is it guesswork?

I thought it was established. And there’s a good chance that if we were breaking FFP, if over a certain level, it would be money we didn’t have, until we sold a big player.

Didn’t we report losses of £30 mil for 2 seasons wasn’t it? And wasn’t that was with the next season operating the same? Might be wrong on the 3rd season.

We spent above our means securing Benteke, Sakho and Meyer on huge wages (with huge transfer fees for the first two).

Those transfer fees are spread out over a number of years meaning even when it appears we're being stingy (e.g only securing loans and frees) we're still suffering financially from previous transfers. The AWB money was a god send to steady the ship - I imagine there was never any intention to spend a bean of it on new players.

Moving on the high earning and arguably underachieving players would do us a world of good financially, any transfer fees received (seeing 9m for Sakho reported) would be an added bonus.

Media gossip he is going back to France I think this would be a good deal for him and us. For his wages he has not been consistent enough.
