I’m no accountant, but I know man who is (an auditor). When I asked he said the most likely reason he could deduce from what’s in the public domain is that the club has financially restructured in a fundamental way. In November 2016 a finance deal was struck with Barclays against ‘future income’. Whilst some of this may been used for the January 17 window, there has been considerable turnover generated since. That financial arrangement was settled in February 18 (& Barclays charge against the club removed) so the Club has found the funds from within somehow or other. If this restructure was extremely complex it may take the auditors a considerable amount of time to unravel it all before signing off. Even then, all parties need to be in agreement & sign it off Papers have been submitted according to a confirmation document but these were clearly not the audited accounts, albeit it might be the draft. The change in governance consultants may not have helped as it is they who would submit on the club’s behalf.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

My first thought was simply that the owners wanted to see what division we were in and then more precisely what position we finished so they could establish our approximate financial position in 2018. With likely profits this year then a more favourable tax position could be possible with how much profit (or loss), is declared in the 2017 results. Then as discussed in the thread it does seem reasonable that there is going to be a sorting out of the structure of the four companies that are mentioned above and restructuring these was taking up the time. There is also the funding for the new stand to consider. Have the Americans actually put in their cash already? Perhaps for the January 2017 left back buying bonanza? Or was the deal that they would put in the cash when the planning for the new stand was approved? Since that consent also coincided with the end of the financial year it could well be part of what is being discussed. Of course we have no idea and no way of finding out but since the new season is far away and the transfer rumours are totally hopeless because everyone is on holiday what else are we supposed to speculate about? Your reasons don't take account of the fact that the accounts that need to be filed are for a period ended eleven months ago and therefore have nothing to do with the current position or next season's anticipated income. I wonder what Parish's response will be once the media latch onto the lack of accounts

There you go, these two posts firstly from "Mileend" then from Nobbybm confirm what i said in my previous post, they are obviously better informed than you are, why stir up mischieve with inacurate misinformation, even with the remaining half a braincell you do have you could easily have found the info i found and posted a positive thread for once. Are you actually a Palace fan or a Charltom/Millwall, or even dare i say it a Brighton supporter, as every post i've seen of yours is so anti Palace, you dont ever have anything good or positive to say about the club. It's half wits like you that are the reason i rarely even look on Hol anymore.

In your absence we've tended to favour debate over pointless personal insults, so perhaps you should get with the programme.

I wonder what Parish's response will be once the media latch onto the lack of accounts Accounts are a snapshot in time and should accurately portray the financial position at the end of the accounting period (in this case 30 June 2017). Any subsequent supposed restructuring that may or may not be currently taking place is irrelevant. I've also seen suggestions that we may be stalling because we don't want Croydon Council to know how much money we have until the Mayor has signed off on the redevelopment. The amount of profit/loss we made almost a year ago will have no effect on the infrastructure improvements the council will require us to make. Whatever the reason for the delay, and your earlier suggestion that the auditors are refusing to sign off the accounts for some reason is more likely than any others I've read, it doesn't show us in a very good light and frankly makes us look dodgy, when I'm sure we aren't.

It isn't a story ss it's cold hard facts. Perhaps Talksport haven't noticed anything amiss. Shall I contact them and tip them the wink and then see what they say?

Whatever, this was first posted on here on 22-04-2018, nearly 6 weeks ago, if there was anything amiss do you really think it would have been missed or overlooked, because I don’t.

It seems fairly obvious that they are restructuring their finances in advance of the new stand build and the injection of the us money. Unless the bed wetters on here are sitting on the board they will not be privy to the way this is done.
