Labour would not have had the desire (or chance) to do grubby deals with that group of zealots. Sadly the SDLP have rather fallen by the wayside in NI. Or more accurately, sadly there is a reason of our own creation that a bunch of seats never get taken up.

I get a feeling that the billion quid for the dup was a total .Not a separate lump. They had funding to come anyhow so it's only the difference up to that figure that was as you say ' the grubby deal'
