Taking a few players off the wage bill - Mutch, Lee, Delaney etc - would pay for a sizeable chunk of his wages so i reckon it's very much affordable. If Roy wants him & he wants to come I'd welcome the deal. For all of his injury concerns - which must be taken into consideration by our medical team, of course - he actually played 9 games more than Wilf did last season.

Those players will need replacing by players of higher quality; and correspondingly higher wages.

On the other hand, if Beneke goes, he would be a saving... unless we can't get a new striker for less money.

Wilshere would be a great signing, I am sure of it. I think there is a difference between him going to Bournemouth on loan to regain his fitness and him coming to Palace on a permanent deal to join a project.

Guitia, Van Aanholt, Sakho, Tomkins, Wan BIssaka, Townsend, Wilshere, Luka, Zaha, McArthur and Benteke.

A starting 11 that I never thought I would see at Palace. Not to mention some of the substitutes.

I have a holiday home in Scotland, in a quiet moment, I played an old game of FIFA from 2015. The teams do not compare.

Seeing as Lee & Mutch had virtually no game time and are essentially crap, I'd rather see Nya Kirby, Lokilo & Lumeka taking up their places in the squad, which wouldn't cost a bean.

Delaney barely had a minute on the pitch either so I'd hope to see Jach taking his place next season.

The squad most certainly needs strengthening which will cost, but my point is that Wilshere is affordable should Roy want him to sign.

Does Nya Kirby, Lokilo and Lumeka need a place in the squad? Aren’t they young enough to not need a place.

I agree with you though, certainly the only reason Mutch had a place was because we couldn’t send him somewhere else.

Apparently he’s posted a ‘cryptic’ message on Twitter that his days at Arsenal are coming to an end.

If he moves and Roy is interested I’m almost certain he’d pick us over West Ham.

IF he stays injury free it’d be a huge coup...

Apparently he talking with the new manager next week...

Would you sign him for £16m and pay him £60k a week?

If it’s a three year deal both options cost: £25.3m for the full contract.

So question is, wages included is JW worth a £25.3m punt?

But they do need a place - in contention for starting or being on the bench for each PL match.

In the past 3 seasons combined he has played less than one year's worth of time in the league. You need to factor that in as well

Yes but the number of games is rising each season I think. When we have a really good manager in charge I’m happy to sit back and watch, although the early days of Roy were a bit rigid in the formation, although with those 7 games with zero se probably needed to be.

I trust Roy will make wise and sensible choices.

I think he would choose them. Was a West Ham fan as a boy and his family are all West Ham fans plus his drive to training everyday would be a lot easier
