What folk want here is long term employment, like everyone else. The retirement community is actually much more important here than tourism as they spend all year long.

It’s a case of shifting demographics. Often places there were ok 40 years ago, like Croydon, are now sh@t holes, whereas places that used to be crap like Clapham are now re-gentrified. I spent yesterday afternoon sat in a park in Islington amongst a sea of shiny white middle class faces, literally thousands of them. When I was a lad Islington was either money or proper rough, Nowadays it’s purely the professional classes. The working class have been out priced big time.

It has a poor reputation as it appears to want to degrade the BLM message I attended the Croydon BLM rally because I wanted to and was interested. My black friends avoided it for fear of trouble. I therefore also went as their proxy. It is just not right to stay silent on this matter. Especially if you are white and middle aged where I generally find I can get away with just about anything.
