Whatever you do lads, don`t mention the VAR!

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

Bundesliga's great.

Khedira is still terrific. 9 goals and 7 assists as a defensive midfielder for Juventus last season.

Low's an idiot. It's all been Low.

Hasn’t he taken them to at least the semis in something like 5 consecutive tournaments?

Also, Khedira has played both AM & DM this season & more than half his goals came in two games against very poor opposition. Well past his best like much of the 23. The lack of pace & power (German attributes) in that team is just unbelievable.

last time Germany DIDNT make the semi's was 1998.

Not taking Sane was bizarre to say the least, i am pretty sure we all realize that, but as mentioned before, he is but 1 man.

No, i think its the pressure of the champions, the expectations, through in that every team you play now is going to dig in their heals and give it even more.

It cant be coincidence that 4 of the last 5 champs went out in the following WC group stage.

We were talking about this the other day during the Sweden v Germany game. The only common thread we could come up with was they all kept a sizeable number of the previous winning team for the next tournament and suffered criticism for it after being knocked out.

For most players it seems there is a small window where they are at their peak (5 years ish)which can see you over two, three at a stretch, tournaments (like Spain) but there is a need to evolve every time & not simply rely on experience to see you through.

I'm not convinced the German squad is unfit as some have said but the spine of the team has certainly lost a yard or two of pace which impacts hugely on how they play.

They were the youngest team at the World Cup 4 years ago. Made a point that the best age for high performance has dropped when they won it.
Bundesliga was known as the league with one of the lowest age averages.

This time...it's stange that they took an older squad. Guess they wanted to rely on the same players. But not showing faith in some young players like Sane when 4 years ago it was exactly proven that sending young players in is the way to win, is mind blowing....

Absolutely. When you consider they won the U21 Euros last year with a very ‘German’ team full of talent I can’t believe they didn’t take a few of the stars from that team. They beat a very talented England side in the quarters to do it (damn penalty shoot outs!).

Meyer, Selke & Amiri are all highly regarded - mixing that talent, youthfulness and desire in with the experienced players (and Sane) would’ve been fairly normal for them and their tournament may well have been very different.

I wonder if Willo maintains his position about Low. Haven't seen commenting after Germany's humiliating exit.

Haven't seen many people say they'll go out soon at the time I posted this thread.
