I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cabaye leave but I doubt if Sako will get a better offer elsewhere.

Cabaye and Sako may be out of contract now however doesn't mean Palace might not offer or have offered already both of them new terms to stay. They just won't be nearly as generous! Also having been the 8th highest spenders in the Premiership 16/17 'the war chest' for transfers this year surely will not be that big!

Townsend - if he goes and we have a half decent replacement coming in I won't worry too much. If we ever wish to make progress in the Premiership a half decent replacement won't do it for us as we should be replacing players with better ones.

Cabaye is the hardest player to replace in our team and even if he stays, we know he can only do 70-80 mins max at full pace now. With this in mind I would be concentrating on finding a replacement of comparable quality either now or in January. Sako showed glimpses of what we thought he should be last year and it was a shame that he got injured. If he could replicate that sort of form then we should keep him. If he is not wanted by the management then Antonio would be a good replacement for him.
