No wanting to generate another SP moan, But genuinely is anyone else getting a little worried that we do need to add quality to the squad and that its going to be a last minute bargain basement situation at best? less than a month to go now until the window closes

It is pretty bad, and mostly because the teams around us strengthened significantly. Sure, people will say don't complain or moan because we do our business late. But late business is business others passed.

Also, it's worrying not being linked with decent players. Say all you want about the rumour mill, but often it's accurate. WH linked with Wilshere, they got him. Same for Diop. Yarmolenko looks like he's coming too.

Looking at our previous business, it's either buying semi-flops from Liverpool people already know about just by watching MOTD (Sakho/Benteke) and Luka+PVA+Schlupp, which were all Fat Sam. I'd say pay Fat Sam a ludicrous amount per day and have him draw up a plan. He's much better at scouting than whatever we've got.

I'd be happy with Abraham and McTominay on loan and a decent No. 10 (weren't we linked with that Lima fella from Brazil?). If WH put in an offer for Wilshere, so should we. Same goes for Felipe Anderson. Or better, pay a goddamn scout to go to Germany, France. Brighton paid peanuts for that Pascal Gross fella.

I won't blame Roy if he resigns. This year's going to be tough. Fulham and Wolves are really strong, Southampton won't humiliate themselves again, WH are looking great. Last year three experienced EPL teams went down because they stagnated over the previous two years. Hope we don't follow them.

So far six clubs have failed to make a single signing and we are not one of them, having signed Guaita. However yes I am getting mildly concerned, the static six includes Chelsea, Spurs, City and Everton, all of whom will inevitably splash the cash and none of whom should be in relegation trouble regardless.

Though I don't doubt we will sign players, I am beginning to worry it will be right at the last minute again which obviously leaves us at a massive disadvantage when the season starts and the new signings still need time to bed in having potentially not had a full pre-season.

It concerns me that we aren't even being linked with anyone at the moment, though hopefully there is plenty buzzing behind the scenes. I guess all we can do is wait and trust that SP is listening to what RH says we need.

Where are you looking as we are being linked with players with Yann M'Vila being a good example of someone considered a suitable replacement for Cabaye and Ozan Tufan being a less exciting rumour.

Many of our recent purchases have come out of the blue without much if any media speculation beforehand and hopefully that will happen again this time

Why we can''t get players in for pre-season is a constant frustration. I expect the rumours of a tight budget are correct and we'll be doing last minute hoping to get a deal again. At some stage our luck will run out doing this.

The squad proved last season they were good enough when fit. Our injuries were horrendous. GK is now sorted Jach will replace Damo so the only problem area is midfield. I think we are waiting on RLC before getting active

I just wish SP would make some sort of statement letting us know his general intentions, Just a small indication would be good for all of us supporters, He is full of it and claims all credit when things are going right, And not so forthcoming with any bad news, Lets hope he has not mismanaged the clubs funds over the past few seasons, And that Roy does have a reasonable budget for this season, The first team is adequate But get injuries as proved last year not many that could step up to the mark.

Yeah I'm aware of the M'Vila link but it just feels quiet given there isn't a massive amount of time left and we potentially need 4/5 outfield players to start the season off in good shape.

I don't believe that there has been any mismanagement, just that it's costing us a lot in wages to stay in this division. Plus, with our relatively small income beyond TV money, we're always bumping up against FFP.

He did.

He said it was about getting the right players not players right now.

Do you honestly believe RLC is goingh to dart back from the World Cup to sign for Palace during a World Cup? It is clear that he is our number one target and who knows, maybe that will be a perm move. Which will be mega bucks expensive.

But well worth hanging on for.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we have a very low key transfer dealings in this window. If I recall Steve Parish did mention a season back that the club can’t keep spending like they have and this messy business about the overdue accounts still seems strange and wonder if that will have any impact.
A number of players have signed new contracts, which does give the club stability and of course with Wickham now training with the first team he will be like a new addition, but I have my doubts about him after such a horrendous injury and I would like to see us get another striker in as cover. I do wonder if our priority will be just to replace Cabaye with Loftus-Cheek and off course Southgate has ban transfer talk and agents from the England camp.
