Can you explain the bold. I don’t follow.

Although I see what you’re saying, must keep is a bit of an exaggeration. However, the players coming in are more of a priority and will make Riedewald’s apps seem minuscule in comparison. We don’t have loads of money so that’s how it is. I also think Roy sees him Riedewald as less mobile to what he wants. Just look at who we’ve signed. They all make Riedewald look like a table top footballer in comparison.

First part is rumours that the hold up is due to Riedewald not wanting to go the other way. The fact we’ve even offered him, disappoints me. Am hoping it’s not true.

Completely disagree RE the second part. I think he’s already a far better player than Kouyate and has potential to be a great holding midfielder - just not as tenacious/aggressive , but not sure how important that is considering we already have Luka and Jimmy Mac.

He’s a must keep if we’re looking at the long term game. Given the right development, you can easily see the value of what we purchased him for increasing significantly. Letting him go permanently at this stage would seem like an odd & negative step to take in our progression as a football club.

Perhaps a loan would suit him better, although even with Kouyate, I’m not convinced he doesn’t have a role to play this season.

OK, I'm highly likely to be wrong (very wrong) but wanted to float this theory past you all to see what you think.

Most of you will have read about our potential link with Josef De Souza from Fenerbache over the last few weeks. That deal (should it be real) is only because his current club find themselves in a difficult situation with FFP and need to offload before bringing more players in.

Having lost most of their forwards since the end of last season, their manager, Phillip Cocu has said he is desperate to bring in forwards, meaning they are forced to let go of their midfield talent.

So why have I bothered mentioning this? Well maybe, just maybe we are becoming the go between for Jordan Ayew and Fenerbahce. Probably a ridiculous idea but the Turkish team have already loaned in Andre from Swansea and with their financial restrictions in place, a player exchange would be more preferable.. as it could be for us.

Maybe I've just lost my mind with the heat or maybe I just like a good story but whatever, was just a thought I had, no evidence or anything, just a theory. They get the Ayew brothers without spending anything, we get Josef and Swansea get Jairo. All clubs with financial limitations mutually better off in the end.

Could potentially make sense, but de Souza had already posted on social media that he’s going nowhere. Disappointing really as Turkish fans seem to give him really positive reviews. One would guess Kouyate takes care of this position.

I think a key element to this deal is the actual mount of money involved. I've not seen an actual figure quoted yet. I am a bit undecided about Ayew, so for me it hinges on just how much money plus Riedewald it is.

What do you mean? Are you saying that Jordan was the best option for cheap?

Are you aware how transfers work? Club must want to sell, another club must want to buy (ie if he fits into their style of play), fee/personal terms must be agreed. That is very basic synopsis. Furthermore yet again I would reiterate that stats are not the be all and end all.

My picks ahead of Jordan?
Yoshinori Muto, Mariusz Stepinski, Casimir Ninga (these 2 at about 2-3 million), Oumar Niasse, Florin Andone, Nicolas Castillo, Dmitri Poloz, Samatta from Genk.
That's why people are saying other teams are doing better business, because they've went in for those players.

Absolutely. A scout I spoke to last season told me that these days, once clubs are in discussion about a player, it’s quite normal to ask for their physical/biometric data for review. This gives the buyer a clearer idea of fitness, work rate, recovery rate etc to assist in their decision. Stats are for SSN etc - a player’s attributes & suitability are key.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Niasse any better than Jordan Ayew? You sure?

Apart from those you think are £2-3 mil players who suddenly become 4-5 times as much when they pick up the phone, none of them as far as we know are willing to take Riedewald in this swap deal. The deal is stalling because Riedewald may not want to go to Swansea.

Incidentally the cash part of the deal was £2 mil. So how much is Riedewald valued at?

Interested in your next Magic wand to solve that one and our limited budget.

Thaks Rudi. At just 2 mill we swap a player who we really don't use much for a player in a position we need alternatives in style in. Does make me think it will leave us a little short of cover in central midfield but think if there could be a bit of wheeler dealing going on to bring in a loan signing to cover CM

I agree with this much better options then ayew.

it looks like we are going for scraps the players teams dont want and have not performed for few seasons.

Will any of their clubs take Riedewald?

I prefer to check out the fans' forums on players we are interested in than the football writers who will have seen nothing near as much of them.

The Swansea fans can't wait to get Jordan Ayew out of the door, which is troubling, particularly as they are now a Championship club and you'd think if he was half-decent he'd fire in the promotion goals.

In fact they see far more exited about the prospect of signing our JR, a player they've surely hardly ever seen.

As for West Ham and CK they like the first half of his time there, but some say he's been useless and lazy the last two seasons.
