Stay positive,in Steve we trust.
Plenty of time to sign one or two loan signings we need, given our financial constraints, although don't hold out much hope for RLC being one of them and apparently, the Manchester loanee from last season ,has rejected the opportunity to come back to us again this season

We do seem to be in a bad place ,having freed up some huge wages, with the likes of Sako, Cabye,Lee ,Jach and Much departing with no signings as yet.( Guarta was a signing agreed from the last disastrous window).

In contrast,Houghton,Brighton's manager is pleased that his business has been completed this window in good time,no less than seven new signings.

Strange times for us at present and not even sure if Roy has signed his much heralded new extended contract.

Squad looks paper thin to me, if we have injuries like last season then we are in trouble big time.

Cabaye and Sako were big earners, so we must have some money to play with as far as that goes.

Whilst not supposedly strengthening the squad might be frustrating, last season we did have a large injury list but still managed to finish mid table. Cabaye is the player needing replacement and RLC if he doesn't come back. Expect to see some players improve from last season, possibly a few fall back. Stay in the shade and see what happens.

Why? Is it because of his proven expertise and skills in the transfer market?

Well, we are in a club history record 6th year in the PL, so yeah I think S Parish has a few more skills in not only the xfer market but in everything else football related compared to anyone else on these message boards.

I think 7 signings is too many. You're either telling the majority of the current team they aren't good enough or buying players that aren't as good as what you already have. Prefer the approach of buying one or two quality players each window, improve the team slightly and keep a good club ethos.

We always sign players late, half the time they come from out of the blue. Signings are normally later after a world cup. At most we now only need a midfielder, a winger, and a striker. We don't need to panic buy as many people as we can.

Sky are reporting that we have made a bid £8.9m for Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons a 29 yeo with 8 French caps, do not know anymore about him?

I agree with you but if we only ever buy 1 or 2 quality players then we’ll only ever have 16 players at the level required. Unless of course you mean 1-2 in the summer window and 1-2 in the winter window for a while. Otherwise we’ll be at a disadvantage all of the time.

The positives for us are that if we are injury free we can hit the ground running.
Granted we will miss RLC and Cabaye but there is still time to get someone.
Our players all know each other - teams with big signings will still be shaking hands to get to know each other!

The cold harsh reality is that with no depth at all in the squad after Cabaye, RLC, TFM, Sako, Lee, Jach (loan), Mutch (loan) have all gone we are in a lot of trouble.

One injury crisis like last season and I worry we may be looking into the depths of relegation with no way back. Parish is now messing around with this if we don't get people in soon. 17 days isn't much for us as we usually spend double that haggling to failure.
