Let's be honest, not all avenues have actually been explored. I find it very hard to believe that this has actually happened.

Club statement doesn't tell us much that's new. Club couldn't exactly force people out of their seats in order to give the HF whatever they want. I'm guessing the HF now hope that the lack of atmosphere will wear the club down into making them a promise for next season.

Last season, a supporters’ group, The Holmesdale Fanatics, requested that we re-position them in Block E of the Lower Holmesdale Stand for the 2018/19 season. Their idea was to try to create a central “singing section”, instead of in the corner, in the hope it would further improve the atmosphere inside Selhurst Park. They also said they felt the group would find it hard to continue if we could not facilitate this move.

I don't quite understand, why it is hard to continue as before. That is where they built their so called reputation.
Could someone explain, as it hasn't hindered them in the past and from what I have read they were already given a bit of preferential treatment.

I think we’re getting quite philosophical about something that is actually quite straight forward.

The HF are valued by most Palace supporters, and quite highly regarded at that. Most palace fans don’t want to see them leave.

But the long and short of it is, fans should not be enforced to move anywhere that they don’t want to go. Even if you take away the principle of it, behind goal seats have been desirable in grounds all over the country long before the HF existed.

The club, probably Parish, has made empty promises that he couldn’t keep. This is me assuming things based on how I perceive him to be. And if this is true, I sympathise with them on that basis. But other than getting behind the team first and foremost, and looking to inclusively arrange something when the new stand is built, I’m really not sure what they’re expecting the club to do.

They are important. I don’t see how anyone could disagree. But the idea that they’re, by definition, more important than fans who may not sing or stand as much is just false.

I have always appreciated the fervour and atmosphere generated by the HF and disappointed that they have taken the decision not to continue as before.

That said, I fully support the club's stance. At the end of the day it would have been totally and morally wrong to turf people out of their seats, seats many have held for several years, just to accommodate the HF.I suspect many on here would be complaining vehiemently if they held seats in the central block but then told they would no longer be available to them and offered inferior seats.

It is a shame that this set of circumstances has occurred but the club were right to protect the seats of their loyal season ticket holders.

I'm getting the impression that block E ST holders weren't really consulted, as some seem to be claiming they'd have considered moving. Perhaps it'd be worth starting a formal consultation to see who would actually be willing to move. If enough are, perhaps space could be arranged somewhere there over the next season or two.

Either way the HF and what they brought isn't something we have a divine right to, so perhaps people just need to remember how it was before 2005 and accept it, for now at least.

I really hope we can get them back. I couldn't make it yesterday and all they kept saying in the radio was how s*** the atmosphere was, and how much we missed wilf. the HF have been brilliant for the club...probably worth a few points every season, one way or another.

From what I remember, didn't the club release a statement, saying a certain section of the Holmesdale weren't allowed to renew their season tickets in the morning of an important game without explaining why that was the case?

Indeed. Perhaps the club don't want to properly consult as it would ultimately be too expensive and require too many man hours. I still think that could have been managed by perhaps doing so over a longer timescale.

Cant see the point in this as it will only take a few reluctant season ticket holders to refuse to move and you back at sq 1 again. I think its their right by the way but want the HF back please.

Unless they’ve bought season tickets elsewhere presumably the option to return to their original seats is still open. Hope they consider this.
