i am not a supporter of your stance on this nor on the HF stance , i support palace and the simple as that , i understand where you are coming from but i dont intend to insult you but just because you have been going up the palace since 95 it doesn't give you the right to the seat as you are not buying the seat only renting it, let me put this scenario to you . how would you feel seated in your seat surrounded by the HF jumping up and down waving their flags in your face while you are trying to watch the match? i do however think the way things were were great to tell the truth , the whole stand joined in singing and shouting and baying for blood ( especially the brighton game )i just loved the atmosphere in the homelsdale its not the same anymore the sooner it gets put right the better . BTW i have been going there since 1980 when there was no seats all the singers and chanters gathered behind the goal .

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

Bit over dramatic. If we get relegated it won't be because the HF aren't singing. And if we do get relegated and you feel you can't watch them be a mid table championship side - you're choice. Personally I'll support them whatever, have done for 47 years and won't be stopping because a couple of hundred 'super fans' decide to stop singing.

ONE of the reasons we’ve stayed up is because of the support. Like it or not, it is. Therefore if we go down it could be a factor. If we go down just because, if it’s our time or whatever then I’ll have nothing to complain about. If it’s because of a view that people didn’t want any work done to see if a good one elsewhere could be found then I may reduce my attendance.

You may think ‘Relegation? So be it’, or the days of George Wood slicing his kicks into the white empty Arfur with 10 year olds in the Croydon Advertiser block in the main stand is an acceptable place for us to steer ourselves towards but I don’t.

We should be okay this season but who knows what tests we may face this season and next, and I do not accepyus going down with a whimper and lots of ‘meh’ thoughts about it.

Another over dramatic post. Keep it up. Just because I say Ivd been supporting for 47 years snd will continue to do so, you bring up 'blasts from the past' and insinuate I wouldn't care if we get relegated. Grow up.

Sit and settle for anything as long as it’s a comfy routine. We can do better.

Rudi, first of all I think your one of HOL's better posters, but throughout this thread, whenever you post, you come over as though you are stating facts, when in fact you're just stating your opinion. That's all, nothing more, nothing less. And your opinion is no more valid than anybody else's. Just because someone disagrees with YOU, it doesn't make them all wrong.

This is a debating forum, not who shouts loudest is right.

Sorry, I forgot about all the 100 STRONG have done for our club.

My suggestion is:-

HF are given 100 seats in the Directors Box,FOC of course

The "so called"Drummer, gets to sit in between Steve & Brighty,to ensure plenty of TV coverage

HF can use ALL the facilities of the Directors Box including free refreshments,FOC of course

Steve will arrange a special bus for the HF to ensure they attend all the games,FOC of course

Steve to consider transfering part ownership of the club to the HF for their incredible support over years and years for which we are all so grateful.FOC of course

Steve to arrange for a "child care centre"at the ground to cater for the many HF younger members.FOC of course

Time to CLOSE this ridiculous THREAD
COYP

Would you like to elaborate on ‘regards to your BF’?

Watch the highlights of the Huddersfield game on palace tv.
We are behind the goal.
Sounds like we are at home.
Can’t even hear Huddersfield.
We won assisted by our singing.
Any real palace fan must understand that as a club we are all about noise, pride of south London the famous palace boys.
It is imperative our core singers get behind the goal in the Homesdale where they always were so we can make Selhurst properly seem like home again.
It is no fun when Southampton out sing us.

With respect for a start you could at least start issuing a few yellow or red cards. I've seen the rules broken many times on this thread, for a start I have a son with learning difficulties and it offends me when a poster calls another fan a retard and the Mods do nothing at all. And also the number of posters that have posted ageist comments against the older fans who just want to watch a football match. I have also seen one in which the poster called another an effing moron.

I would have thought that a thread which is turning fans against each other warranted more action from the Mods than is currently the case!

Referring to people as retards is offensive.
Such posts should be removed.

Right, time to look at the reality. Over the last 4 seasons Palace have scored 5 more points away than at home. Probably the only team in premier league history to have such a record over the course of 4 years. Let’s not say our home support is what’s kept us up, stats do not back this up.

Isn’t the aim to improve it, so home form is better than away form and you’re not relying on counter attacks, breakaway goals, smash and grab victories, things like that? Or we could test the hypothesis that home support doesn’t matter, even though management and players say it does, until we have a real test of a season in the bottom 3, which shouldn’t be too far off given our size, Wilf may be off, etc etc. So we could be taking something away from a team in trouble or not maximising efforts in better seasons.

If you ask supporters around the Premier league, they’ll say football needs more atmosphere like ours, and now we have none. The only people who say it doesn’t apart from here and now are Arsenal fans when we annoy them with constant singing and support at the Emirates.

Why did we even bother then? Why did we bother with supporting our promotion run? Why did we bother supporting the Pulis team THAT MUCH? They would’ve done it without us anyway? Same for most of the other seasons the summer shenanigans started us in the drop zone? Actually why don’t we just watch Prem football on the laptop? We don’t provide anything that tv money doesn’t so why?

Do the players and managers agree with you? Doubtful. As I said, the aim is to improve on that. Having a mute home atmosphere isn’t what I’d call a help. Maybe I’m wrong, along with Hodgson and any other previous manager, players and current players that comment on the contrary to you.

Or is it because the longer we’re here in the Prem the more we take it for granted, expectation, apathy, etc etc, because it now shows without the catalyst for noise there won’t be any the management and players value. Are we big time already and a mainstay in this league?
