Like everyone else I was delighted when we signed him. After seeing him live a few times it was abundantly clear that his positioning, movement and desire was absolutely dreadful.
Those saying ‘he had a good 16/17 season’ obviously didn’t sit at Selhurst watching him miss chance after chance after chance merely by not getting in the mixer/not busting a nut to get on the end of anything. He could have had 30 goals that year comfortably if he’d bothered to move.
You don’t have to actually miss the target/shank it over the bar to ‘miss a chance’, the fact he is hardly ever in the right position in the first place is the issue.
I for one hopes he comes back and has a blinder, as I’m sure he will if he bangs a few goals in early. Would also be over the moon if we got his wages off the books and recouped any money for him.

Pretty sure that's him training today (behind McArthur) Meyer's first day of training.

Personally I'm hoping he'll have a return to form this season. All the time he wears the shirt and is picked to play by Roy he, like any other of our squad, has my 100% support.

Agree entirely with this. Nicknames like Blunteke and the Sloth are cheap, unnecessary and far from helpful.
