I have to agree with you.
Roy doesn't exactly look like a motivator of men
More like an old uncle whom players respect but don't get the kick up the arse they need.
As well as palace I go see Crawley Town whom changed coaches just after season started.
Italian coach with lots of motivation and constantly a presence on the sidelines
The team has been completely revitalised
Playing fast attacking football with confidence on the ball & Infront of goal
No signings just good coaching & team building.
Palace are lacking in these attributes.

Since Cioffi took charge they have won all their Home league games but lost all their Away games.
They have gone from 15th to 9th since he was appointed Head Coach so travelling in the right direction.

Yes true.
Away form needs working on.
But you can feel the enthusiasm of him.
It must work for the players.
Not getting that from Roy unfortunately.

We are in both cups still. Could be Wembley bound yet.

Genuinely staggered at the amount of bed wetters we have as fans. It's like the premier league has triggered collective amnesia.

Is our current form frustrating? Yes. Do we long to be winning more games? Yes!

But are we in a better place than 6 years ago? Err, yeah! Failure to recognise that is tragic. I do wonder, as much as they protest, how many of these supporters were here under the Peter Taylor regime for instance.

Indeed I recall the days in the lower divisions, the 6,000 crowds etc etc etc.At present, we are far removed from those distant days.

I believe that the current disenchantment can be attributed to :

1.Zero goals at home this season and as a result no wins.

2.Three consecutive defeats and with the run of games to come, every chance we will lose 7 on the bounce.

3.Expectation of a better start this season and 7 pts after 9 games is seen as well below par. This has triggered the view that we are in for a real relegation struggle.

4.What is seen as poor recruitment in pre-season with a failure to adequately strengthen the forward ranks.Criticism that Hodgson has not been backed in the transfer market.

5.Criticism of Hodgson's use of substitutions.

Rest assured, I am just speculating on the possible causes of the dispair at the present time that's all and shouldn't be seen as the mindset of 'Yours Truly'.

There’s only one solution in my eyes...a power house front three of Wickham, Benteke, Sorloth.

Don't think it's a mindset of anyone.
Just seeing same mistakes every year
Groundhog Day at the transfer window.
We all want to look forward to next game with expectations of turning them over.
My away trip to man utd is still one to look forward to.
As they are all over place & anything could happen

Sure we’ve progressed as a club but I think there was a lot of hope for this season that’s failed to materialise.

For me the depressing thing is that we are having much more of the ball than has been the case previously but Wilf is starting to cut a bit of dejected figure. His teammates are failing to capitalise on what he’s bringing and he must be looking around thinking WTF.

The hope was that we’d have a good start that would see our survival guaranteed relatively early with a shot at a cup and either keep Wilf longer or be shopping for a replacement from a position of strength early doors. Don’t see any of that at the moment.

Unless something is done to purchase a proven striker in the January window then I can see the Eagles doing a Coventry. They flirted with relegation for three or four seasons just managing to stay up. Then they were relegated, falling through the Championship. They won the playoffs from Division 2 to Division 1 last season. Do we really want that happening to Palace? The combined wealth of our three owners is said to be £3.8 billion. It would make sense for them to invest some of this to keep their interest on their shares looking healthy

Any comparison to Coventry is meaningless, they were in the 1st Division/Premier for 34 years and were relegated 18 years ago. It’s a whole different ball game now.
Do you think the owners amassed a wealth of £3.8 billion ( if that’s true ) by not knowing what they are doing. If we were relegated, it would hardly make a ripple in their wealth.

Another question that I think needs answering is why does it seem that managers go off the boil once they have been with the club after 8-12 months?

Is it working with Parish? Is it that they can't motivate the players? Is it they can't motivate themselves?

We all know who our managers have been and apart from Warnock (poor 5 months after being thrown in at the deep end) and FdB (poor 4 games after not being backed financially and maybe not understanding the size of the job) they have all had a good first 8-12 months then either have left or gone off the boil.

Holloway - walked after 11 months which saw us promoted.
Pulis - walked after great 8 months.
Pardew - great first 12 months (end of one, start of next) then awful.
Allardyce - great 6 months then 'retired'
Hodgson - great 9 months now poor.

Parish comes across as a likeable guy but something isn't right behind the scenes. I am not the only one who never believed Allardyce retired.
