If Roy sets up like we did against Chelsea and sticks 11 behind the ball,I’m f***ing off at half time...

If we don’t attack Fulham behind Meyer, we will have to endure the combined, constant threat of Mitrovic, Schurle, Babel and Sessegnon. I don’t want to watch us defend all game with the odd counter attack and save our ‘fresh legs’ until the 80th minute. That’s not working. Give Meyer, Benteke and Wickham a chance by giving them some decent minutes.

Totally agree, but Hodgson isn't going to suddenly develop a plan B. I'm sick of this one size fits all approach. 11 men behind the ball and then counter is right for Liverpool away. He'll do the same Vs Fulham and it's just not appropriate.

Save yourself the bus fare mate, it's absolutely nailed on.

I thought his contribution today at Watford was modest at best. He is quick and skilful but seems to lack purpose.

Not yet convinced that he has the appetite for blood-and-thunder crunch matches.

He sometimes shows a bit of spark, but when will it be converted to a flame?

Perhaps we should buy back Barry Bannan?

Unfair to single him out when others were poor, especially the captain and the keeper.
It tells you all you need to know about the mindset of successive Palace managers that we let Barry Bannon go. Skilful midfielders are not given a fair chance - and that is why the forwards don't get the service.
As a non Palace friend said to me: Palace always look 'scrappy' especially at home.

Thought he was ineffective today, had lots of the ball but created nothing to speak of.
We missed Schlupp driving forward from midfield today.Thought a reasonable substition would have been to bring on Ward at left back pushed Schlupp into midfield and taken off either Max or McArthur after we equalised, would have given us more momentum.

It’s early days but sad to say it doesn’t look like Meyer will work out as hoped.
He’s clearly talented with an excellent first touch and good awareness of the players around him.
But he doesn’t suit Roy’s systems being neither a hard working and physical central midfield player nor a wide player who will track back.
At most under Roy I think we’ll see him as an impact sub which I’m sure will not be in line with Meyer’s ambitions.

It was interesting to contrast Max and Hughes today as both are of similar stature and play similar roles in their sides. Hughes was by far the more influential.

Given Max Meyer's record salary for this club, it's clear that his transfer wasn't inspired. Do you know how much he's on per week?

It was a big gamble to buy a player who used to be a promosing attacker, but had played the last 1 and a half year as central midfielder, with medium to no success. Now he's not that good up front either because of the lack of continuity.

I looked at it as Meyer was bought in to then have resell value either this summer or next, he wasn't a roy signing as roy seems reluctant to play him.

This was once a quality forum....
