January is around the corner. Hopefully if Palace can get a few signings even on loan i.e. Batshuyai, Moses then the side will be improved.

Should Palace play full time in every FA CUP game? Because if they win it (big if) they can qualify for Europa I think?

Our squad would not be strong enough for European football and stay in the premier league in my opinion

Just have to look at Burnley to see what an Europa Cup adventure has done to them.
Played 7 matches in it pre season and have not recovered from the experience.
Having said that I do think wwe should treat the FA Cup seriously

We won't play a full strength team v the haddocks and I'd be surprised if we risked a jaded player in round 4 (if we made it). Southampton is just a few days later I think.

so I think we will simply aim to put out strong teams and see where it takes us. if a favourable draw got us to round 6 and we looked set in a safe league position, why not prioritise it then?

I am sure we will give squad players their chance in the earlier rounds. If we progress and our league position has improved I see no reason why we wouldn't go for it. We would all love another couple of trips to Wembley!

With Pardew, we were doing well at Christmas so it was worth it.

Not this year.

Our year for ...?

I can't believe it has taken half of the season to get the team to shoot at goal ... it could take another half to get them to hit the thing.

Intensive shooting training is urgently required. Leave the FA Cup to fate!

It saddens me that it is ever even a consideration that we should not take the FA cup seriously.

We have emerged from our second worst Autumn of the last two years with 7 points from the last 3 home games and have just taken 4 points from two trips to Manchester. Roy has managed this with a team with no centre forwards.

We are significantly better than the bottom four and this will not change.

I well understand the desire to preserve top flight status after decades of swift returns to the championship...but if that is the sum total of our ambitions then we will one day become Stoke City...a club almost losing the will to live after a decade in the Prem becoming increasingly uncompetitive.

I have said this before...being as Palace fan has taught me a great deal of life lessons; perseverance, groundless optimism and so forth. I don't feel like I am owed anything, I never expect to see Palace as league champions, but oh my goodness an FA cup win would make 40 years of roller coasting worthwhile.

I am still not over the 1990 final...have tried to erase the 2016 one from my memory. I couldn't give two hoots about playing in Europe...that's not a reason for not trying to win the oldest cup competition in the world. Win the cup and play the youth team in Europa qualifying...please can we just take the tournament seriously?

A great competition which we have a half realistic chance (along with other Prem mid table teams) of winning. If we did, it would be the best moment in our history.

With Benteke and Wickham returning, the early rounds will give them valuable game time to get their sharpness back. We have pretty good depth in midfield and defence so can rotate there whilst still fielding decent players.

I don’t think we’ve quite got the points in the board yet to fully go for the cup but if we are still in competition by round 5 and the league position is looking healthier, then yes, we should the go full throttle for it. It would be a dream to travel Europe to watch Palace.

Take each game as it comes. First up, let's smash Grimsby out the way. We need a good attendance first.
