Think you all seem to have short memories and need to look at his contribution under Hodgson before he got injured.

Thought he was top dollar, even if he was probably playing out of his skin for a contract.

Maybe the club will try to entice Mutch back.Don't think it would really surprise anyone on here.

Hang on guys when he left there were plenty of people complaining we should have kept him.

He hasn't set the world alight at WBA but they have a couple of strikers who are scoring freely.

If this is to the end of the season and he's not costing us too much wages then I am fine with that. It doesn't look like we will be signing a main striker in this window and he can also cover the wingers.

Not one to get too excited about but it could be a sensible low risk deal given the circumstances.

Why is everyone to pessimistic about this? (if true). So what if was a past player? I don't get why people get so uptight about resigning previous Palace players. If they're good enough get them in.

As far as I'm concerned, we need back up on the wings, he came good last season before he got injured. Some players just fit in well at certain clubs, probably down to style of play. His contract demands were too high to offer him a new deal in the summer, his stock has dropped since. If he's now affordable on the cheap, then why not. He'll provide good back up to Wilf and Townsend.

It's a cautious "yes" from me. Weren't Palace close to re-signing him in the summer but negotiations started too close to to the transfer deadline?
His first 2 years at Palace were disappointing but he looked a much better player in his final year under Roy Hodgson until his bad injury at West Ham. He seemed to be particularly effeffective as a substitute who could make a real impact with his physicality, strong runs and powerful shot.
He Is fit so would be available immediately and with only 6 months left on his contract he has the additional incentive of playing for a new contract.
There would seem to be little financial downside to this deal which appears to have little risk and some potential rewards.

Got to agree, im pleased with this.
Was very good for us when we never had a fit striker, hits the target more often than not and is difficult to play against. Happy with this considering it's a free and now probably allows us to get Tosun in on loan. Smart business.

Of course a positive spin can be put on this. I liked him and wanted us to keep him. He wasn’t deemed good enough before, but he is now as long as he’s cheap. He’s been injured and unfit for a lot of this season which has contributed to his lack of appearances. I’m sorry but once again a total lack of imagination from Freedman and co. Let’s just disband the recruitment department now and save on the salaries. Let’s get Cabaye and Jedi back too, then we’ve really got the band back together.

My research shows he has played 5 games for WBA in the league and not scored in any of them.

He started 2 of those games but was withdrawn about 20 mins from the start of the second half.He was named as sub in 3 games and made late appearances.

Not really made any impact at WBA and I suspect the supporters are not crying in their ale at the prospect of him departing.

Seconded. He only went because he over asked on wages I believe, not in that position now is he. Let's hope he is at the end of this deal.....
Low risk it is, and he won't need time to settle in.
