Your right, "its just a thought", your thoughts without any substance whatever.

Thanks for this insightful response without any substance whatsoever!

Pot/kettle springs to mind.

I too hope we look to the youth set up as I would also love to see our team age below its current level.

The problem is the Premier League and all the pressure to remain in it gives little opportunity. AWB only got in due to lack of cover and he has shone, so I pray Roy will try to have a little bit of faith in the youth squads and start to bring some through, but I doubt he will!

Th fact we have just resigned a 30 yr old ex squad player suggests otherwise I'm afraid.

Some people are like Slinkies Ö not really good for anything, but you canít help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I follow the academe and u21 players with some interest, as far as i know that although there is are some talented players, there isn't a forward/striker that stands out as being ready for the 1st team

Roy is doing a great job. Despite some volatility in results and a lack of a goal scorer I donít feel anxious at all that we will go down. Which contrasts significantly to just about every other season we have had in the Premier League. That is testament to Roy and his staff.

Pushing on?! Come on, we are starting to sound like Charlton fans when they got rid of Alan Curbishley or Bolton when they had had enough of Big Sam. Look where both those clubs are now. What do you mean by that? Weíve already tried by investing £100m+ in 3 years or so.

Progress takes time and is inch by inch unless you have a billionaire philanthropist in the wings. Whatís more progress is happening with the club on a more holistic basis when you consider the stadium plans, training ground developments and Academy plans. Thatís where the money should go and is.

Letís be thankful for what we have got and remember where we have come from and who got us there and get behind Parish as there is no doubt he is doing all he can.

As for big changes, I kind of feel like we might be gearing up for spending more money in the summer when you get better value by clearing the boards a bit now, but I for one really hope that change does not involve Roy going anywhere.

Great post as far as I'm concerned. Completely agree.

What a bleak and desperate statement.

This is Crystal Palace. We already reached the promised land. We're never gonna break into the top 5-6 unless Bill Gates decides to buy.

What a bleak and desperate statement.

If this is what it's come to, bring on the championship now, put us out of our misery. Scraping 38 points a season, three or four home victories a calender year... What's the point?[/quote]

Good question, why are we in existence at all?

72 league clubs would love to be in our position, but that is not good enough for some. So, what is the point of league football at all?
