I never give to charity anymore and there are now so many that their campaign of TV ads and door knocking is now bordering on harassment.

Saving lives in Africa will only lead to more pain and suffering in the future, not to mention add to the impending population crisis that will affect us all. It has already begun.

Being completely dispassionate about it. Why should the West effectively pay to help African or Asian populations replace them?

It makes no evolutionary sense.

Because, at the end of it, we are human.

As you know, I completely agree with many of your views in this area. However, I've thought about this too. I reconsidered this area when we had that child photo dead on the beach. We have the foreigners sent out on unstable rafts crossing dangerous seas.....Do you pick them up or let them drown.

I would never watch someone drown and not try to save them. Would I drop leaflets in that region saying I was no longer sending government boats out....yes.

I'm human and I will help those in their own countries. But I'm also English and by extension British and European. Birth right is important, my child has no dilution in its loyalties and that shouldn't be ignored by the state...as it is.....By letting foreigners in on large number scales and giving them all the same rights we eventually reach a tipping point where we lose the hegemony of the English over England.......and of the European over Europe.

So for me, it's qualified help.

Well, this is the difference between being emotionally or directly involved and viewing things from a distance in the cold light of reality.

Trying to alleviate pain, suffering and death will certainly lead to more of it.

Seeing the dead child on the beach is an emotional lure but thousands die every day. The idea that saving lives is the right thing to do will become more questionable as population reaches crisis levels.

These 'big' charities can get in your face and cause a bit of discomfort in our lives to try to ease others. They're not perfect but do manage to do a lot of good. However find your local homeless shelter, they often struggle to raise funds and often need all the help they can get.

These guys do some fantastic work supporting people throughout the challenges of homelessness

Palace's reach out this year to the local homeless community made me very proud of the team I support (I mean when home form is so poor we've got to find something right!)

Yep, thousands die everyday and indeed we are dispassionate about it because we know it happens but choose to ignore it by omission.

I just take the view that you can help from an humanitarian point of view without surrendering your identity and country.

But you are right that the mistakes in the past were in getting too involved. Now we are told that we have to be careful about how we even speak to someone with some overseas heritage.....It's beyond a joke.

It is only the Anglosphere and Europe which currently have ruling classes within its institutions which are engaged in policies of replacement.

For myself I'll continue helping in the small ways I have.....It's non political.
