I hope Mr Smith is watching on telly - I told him he should have let me in the school choir! 5:00 - We've lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield (well, that's what the steward told me on the way out, I was too busy conducting to watch any silly football!). Still, the important thing is that we managed to sing the same song 59 times in a row - that's a new record! 9:00 - Back home now. I've had fishfingers and chips for tea and I'm ready for an early night. What a day in the life of a Holmesdale Fanatic!

I can not name myself as a fanatic as i am also a newbie like you who was impressed about cozy atmosphere in TV only few years ago Luckily i live few miles away from SP and started to smell the atmosphere by holding a season ticket this year with my 8 year old son. Stadium is located in the middle of residential area. I have noticed 2 local pubs next to stadium usually fans go or the rest prefers fast-food takeaways and consume food at pavements. Away supporters freely hang around with no issues. There is a also a Fanzone which only ticket holders accepted and there are some games for kids, food stalls and entertainment. I have a different routine as i come with a kid. Park the car away like 10 min walk, sneak into market to grab a beer (no pub with kid) and buy hot dog for the son which seems to be his main motivation to come to football game I am located at family section where there is a friendly atmosphere but there is a bit lack of passion which is no surprising. They are a bunch of Croydon misfits up close. Bless ‘em! They’re cocky en masse though … well unless, we play Millwall at home and then they get a police escort for their own safety?! First time ever in the history of football that home fans get a police escort to their own ground! #cringe That said, I’d rather have them than not!

I for one bloody love the fanatics. They get some stick on here but I remember going to games from the 70s and to hear their non-stop chants is certainly better than sitting in silence. To answer the original poster, if you are ever over here for a game pop int the Holmesdale Pub beforehand where they often drink.
