Mad times back then...Elland road was horrible especially when salads scores in the last couple of minutes, how did we get back to the car alive. Derby away was mental we took all the seats and standing in one end...loud as you like it. Maine Road was cold and horrible but wrighty's goal was something else...we got chased over bridges in Nottingham and through underpasses in Sheffield...how loud were we at QPR. Singing "we've got money, we've got money you ain't" to Man U...."let go radio rental"..."lets all have a disco". That season will take some beating...we just need to be entertained at home and score a few goal...and I may even start smiling again at home games

We have had a poor return points wise at home, however we are safe for another season. Hopefully the Singing Section in full voice next season should galvanise the team to greater performances.

Thoroughly understand the despondency, is that is a strong enough word, of some of the comments here. The loyalty and love of the club is obvious with most of them. Hate the “I’m a better fan than you” mentality but I too have had a season ticket in different parts of the ground (currently the Arthur) for longer than I dare think about and have written for HOL for most of its life through some really difficult times, especially the most recent administration shambles when I attended several creditors’ meetings and feared we would not even exist for much longer never mind lose too many home games. Anyhow I have been turning up at Selhurst Park through far worse times than the current season. Being a concession, my ST is remarkably good value and, win or lose, I have been able to see brilliant players in the world’s top league run out to play - my good fortune admittedly if being old can be classed as a happy condition! I will continue to come and watch Palace whatever the future holds. Not being being a virtue signaller, just it’s a part of life for me.

Yes I am with you Jamesey it’s just a part of life, I’ve made my bed and this is it for the time being but in years to come it hopefully will be better and we will look back remembering those lean years but it could also get worse.

Promotion to the premier league has been a double-edged sword. The money has been both a blessing and a curse. We have bigger attendances and I think received around £700m, which has helped buy the training ground, clad the main stand, create a fan zone and do the club shop up. Its also allowed us to be competitive in transfers, with both fees and wages for players. However it’s a results based business and when transfer fees and wages are boarding on obscene the average joe supporter that has to graft is entitled to be the raving hump when supposedly star players can't do the basics right, such as passing, taking free kicks and corners and in tekkers case putting the ball in the back of the net (3 leagues goals in two seasons and 120k per week – blimey!) Hopefully the January clear out was a sign that Steve P has had enough like us and is going to do something about it. I think he needs to start trying to get the fans back on side and one way would be to take a leaf out of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's book. I think a simple message in his match day program notes saying "thanks for our support even though the home form as been crap for a while but its being worked on…and by the way have a free half time beer on us" would be a good start.

I bet Cardiff were delighted being battered 0 - 0 away from home, and West Ham will look at it as 2 points dropped, as Selhurst Park has become the away team's banker. Huddersfield will certainly be looking at it that way on Saturday. I think that rather than it being a typical Palace attitude - which may well exist - I think it shows how fine a line there is between success and failure. Had we taken some of those chances - (only a handful required) and beaten those teams whilst playing the Same Style of football then the glazierMarts of this world will still be optimists, but the difference is that most of the Martins of This world will have joined him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'wake up' by Midlands Eagle Maybe the January clear out was the start of something...the club looks like it aware things ain't right and although I don't condone booing our own team as happened today, its maybe a way to get a point across in no uncertain terms... However in SP's program note at least he highlighted there's a problem. "I have acknowledged previously in these notes that results at Selhurst Park this season have not yielded enough points, and I can understand how frustrating that must have been at times for you as loyal supporters. Roy and the players are acutely aware of it, but now is the time to rally round as a club and throw your support behind the team, even if at times things aren’t going to plan on the pitch. Thank you for your continued support. Up the Palace."
