Benteke misses his one big chance. The sun rises in the east. Bears, Popes etc.

The right place at the right time

Could of been a different conversation all together if pva,s cross come shot goes in and benteke gets that header on target and even if wilf’s shot goes in we could be discussing a 2-3 win but never mind

Yes, on an episode of Star Trek or Dr Who in an alternate universe in a dimension far far away. Meanwhile back on planet Earth on a chilly Wednesday evening Spuds 2 Palace 0.

Really haven’t complained too much this season but I’m getting sick and tired of these absolutely dire performances.

Even with us not being able to finish or string more than two passes together, we are the most melting, pathetic team in the premier league. There is no heart or desire there whatsoever we lose every 50/50, half hearted challenges and am I going mad or are we one of the only teams in the league who do not press the opposition?

Becoming increasingly infuriating watching Palace and it weren’t great to start with.

If we need a voice in the dressing room let me in there cos I would happily scream at them!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Negative, passive performances, sitting behind the ball in 'Shape',not pressing etc etc.We were even like this against Huddersfield and they were rock-bottom !

I understand the concept of playing in this manner and playing on the counter-attack but when we do gain possession we either squander it or take the safe option by passing backwards.

It's a hard watch at the present time.

Very hard to watch indeed.

Our narrow defence which keeps us in our defensive shape also gives acres of space to their wide players. It was like watching crossing practice last night. AWB may be the best tackler in the league but why bother trying to go past him when you have about 5 seconds to pick your cross out. It’s like offering free kicks from the wings. Watch the highlights and you will see how Spurs tried to move the ball quickly into these areas. We are easily undone by teams who know how we play.

Guita was voted MOTD in that game. That's at home, against the bottom side. What does that say about our current performances? The clean sweep broom needs using and quick, because carry on like this and we'll lose our best players, who'll want to get away from this dreadful negativity that Hodgson has brought to the team. Hodgson out.

To the poster who talked about Bournemouth's result's - I am not saying that we should ignore defending - it is something that we are good at on the whole - but I am saying that we should do more than try and not lose and then when we are losing we should do more than try and not lose by too many.
We lack ambition under Roy.
On Saturday against a very poor team we were toothless in the first half so he changed it (to be applauded) to 4-4-2 and got Wilf more involved and we won - great!
Last night he started 4-4-2 (because it worked on Saturday) which allowed a far better team than us take over the midfield and boss the game.
Just because it worked on Saturday doesn't mean it will work on Wednesday.
Our best away performances have seen us play 5 across the midfield and break in numbers to counter attack.
Last night all we did for 90 mins was hoof the ball up to a talented winger and short centre forward - really?
Roy is paid millions to do that - it is quite ridiculous.
Then - not to change it when it's not working - really?
Spurs are far better than us and will nearly always win but I at least want to see us be beaten whilst giving it a go rather than just play like last night.
We scored 3 at City, 3 at Liverpool,4 at Leicester, 2 at Wolves and so on.
Last night was poor and other than individual errors I do not blame the players - they are setting up as told and it is not good enough.

Was at work so had to make do with the painfully slow BBC text updates, but this appeared at least 4 times that I saw throughout the game.

I quite like PVA but was he really unable to stay onside at least once?

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

Though you should be asking what your left back is doing that far up.

And slow as the BBC text was, it’s still quicker than PVA tracking back.

He only ventured north of the halfway line twice in the 2nd half and both times flagged for offside
