Difficult not to be really negative at the moment. AWB, Batshuayi, Sako and Puncheon all need to be replaced in the squad.Take into account it looks a good 50/50 Wilf will leave and that we'll start the season without Tomkins and Sakho.

Past few seasons there seems to have been an excitement about a couple of players coming in. This year seems to be about players leaving. Once again hoping for last minute bargains. Survival is looking a tall order before a ball is kicked.

Parish's silence is deafening. To me it seems either his enthusiasm has either gone or we are really don't have a pot to urinate in and there is no point announcing bad news.

I think he's a decent squad played, but i know what you mean. The lack of a signing that may potentially make a difference to the first team, makes it very meh! £45 million in from Wan Bissaka and we still can't buy a player in time to bed in for the new season.

Just seems we are making trouble for ourselves with not replacing AWB etc. Another long hard season ahead? I really do think we need some investment into club sooner rather than later.

Not replacing AWB is unacceptable. I can’t see it happening. Itsxmore that the few planned options we had we couldn’t get without going over our intended budget, and that wasn’t skin flint level.

I'm normally very optimistic about the Club doing stuff in the background that we know nothing about, SP and RH know what they're doing - but I agree the silence from the club iand SP is now becoming deafening and is beginning to test even my optimism..!!

Optimistic side negotiations going on and nearing conclusion about additional investment and/or take over - this would go along way to explaining the "radio silence" as the Board attentions would be understandably elsewhere.

Even then if that were true with just 14 days left of the transfer window left to go - we're running it very close with our only transfer dealings AWB out and a very underwhelming third choice keeper and a loanee from last season in - who was a bench warmer at best..!!

Pessimistic me says we've presented and discussed with all potential investors and consortia for take over - they've all turned us down - incumbent American investors still want "offski" so won't invest anymore - so we're down the preverbial financial toilet..!!

Look I hope the pessimistic me is wildly wide of the mark and the opotomistic me is right or at the very least somewhere in between.

But if we are not going to be seriously in danger of relegation minimum we need is an adequate replacement for AWB, a striker that can get us 15+ goals next season and Wilf to stay.

That's minimum and with only 14 days left in the window I for one am beginning to get a bit twitchy..!!

Yep. It’s actually the striker that’s the biggest challenge. The other 2 are attainable and we can make happen.

Good post agree with everything you say, in particular about prospective buyers

Two weeks to go until the end of the transfer window.
We have lost AWB and perhaps Zaha will also depart.

I sense the mood music amongst supporters is that with the departure of Zaha, despite the monies from both sales, we will not be a better team than last season as they have lost faith in the club's ability to secure the right signings to replace these players and purchase others to boost the squad.

I have met a number of gloomsters with a mix of emotions including anger, frustration and disappointment and I get the sense that this could well manifest itself on matchdays. The ship is in pitchy seas on waves of negativity.

Couldn't agree more. I'm guessing there is something going on behind the scenes regarding ownership/investment that is causing the lack of buys.
The current squad is threadbare and the thought of relegation would strip of us the 5/6 good players we have left. We would have a bang average, possible quite poor championship team left.

I was reading an article last night about the players which are due to excluded to Chelsea's CL squad.

Some big names in there including Michy.

I would not rule out another season long loan.
