What do you think happens to those with significant resources that appose this massive re-distribution of wealth? (all of them). Those that can afford to move to anywhere in the world at the drop of a hat, have their assets hidden offshore and the means to avoid scrutiny. Why would the rest of us middle earners bust a ball to pay for everyone else? WE would give up and where this leads should be obvious. It's happened in every communist country everywhere.

Don't forget we are already £1.8 trillion in debt and growing. Labour would also push for open borders (quoting the UN compact on migration as a mandate - signed by the Tories). Pretty soon the welfare state would collapse causing panic and civil unrest.

Not withstanding all this what do you think would happen if we elect a party backed by Momentum types? I could only hope that the generals would have the sense to intervene sooner father than later (i.e. before they get purged).

The current state would collapse and be replaced by comminterns and councils. Likely there would be a war. Pretty much the point I was making. Communism is not democratic - it is done by force. I'm not advocating it in any way - merely pointing out the political philosophy.
As for Momentum etc and immigration and Labour and everything that goes with it - that has nothing to do with Communism. That is largely liberal socialism.
Communist countries certainly do not advocate open borders. Or much openness to anything at all really.
Trotsky had a communism for the world thing going on - Stalin had communism in Russia first. I guess you can see who won that debate.

Just to be Devil's advocate here - would that not apply to Capitalism too? A whole philosophy of money is required here - TUX might be a decent one for that.
I'll say this - the bank promises to pay you what exactly? Particularly in Europe and the US money is intrinsically worth little when just printed without end.

Yep..Capitalism is a banking system run on cocaine and pixie dust....but with capitalism the investors think they have a realistic chance of a return....Whereas with communism....investors think they have a realistic chance of a long drop off a short rope.

Capitalism has reduced world poverty.
Socialism has never done this.
Not a hard concept if you think about it.

Quite interesting that one of the places where a socialist/communist idea worked/works reasonably well was in Israel with the idea of a Kibbutz.

They were actually, quite a bit of history research done on it. Probably the most famous book on it is 'Hitler's Irishmen'.
In general, Irish people fought for the allies but the hard-line republicans and some opportunists worked with the Nazis. One was still alive near me who worked with Otto Scorzeni - he may still be around. They were the guys that glided in to free Mussolini from prison.

The IRA were not Nazis but it was a case of my enemies enemy. Plenty of history around the IRA links with the Nazis for those that are interested.
