I believe the last film I endured was 'Gandhi'. Dragged kicking and screaming to see it by my current wife in those halcyon days when we were 'Courting'.It seemed to go on for an eternity.

One will deduce from this that I have no interest whatsoever in films.

Anyone remember the old Saturday morning pictures. Normally a very dour documentary on Antelope in Botswana followed by Mighty Mouse. Then a Childrens Film Foundation Movie..

saw midnight express there & little big man amongst others.

Not a regular cinema goer buy I've seen about 4-5 films this year and the theatres have been packed for all of them. Definitely not dying out any time soon. The ticket prices generally are reasonable but the food prices are absurd though, I usually sneak in some pick and Mix and just buy a drink.

Saw a program the other day investigating cinema prices.
It was concluded that the actual cinema doesn't make an awful lot from the price of the ticket due to the amount they have to give the distributor for the right to screen.
They freely admitted that the food/drinks prices were high but claimed that was where they made their only profit.
They also said they couldn't do anything about you bringing in food/drinks as long as the food isn't hot or the drinks alcoholic.

It’s a similar story at music or comedy shows where most of the audience seem incapable of lasting 10 minutes without a plastic glass of warm lager. Ironically they’re probably the same people who go to pubs to eat rather than drink.
