Is it safe to say that democracy which is promoted worldwide is the worst form of government? It has so many flaws and is arguably the instigator to all future and present problems in world and domestic politics.

I think the idea of having the best of both systems, democracy and communism. Maybe we could all be allowed to vote but only have one party to vote for.

This may because Millennials/Gen Zers don't have anything/earn anything.

Once they get older and therefore start earning well and see how much tax they have to pay they then soon start to jump into the capitalist camp.

You mean own that home that they can't afford and isn't there for them now......both of them working.

Not being able to pass on much inheritance to their kids.

I think what you're saying was more true in past generations but I think that affect is much less now.

japanese shogun/samurai...undemocratic Feudalism. Battlefield elites were calling all the shots.

introduce firearms....suddenly you need tons of people to win a battle....hey presto 'democracy'

greek trireme oarsmen were many and needed...democracy.

imagine if everybody on a double decker bus had a steering wheel. That is democracy.

if you pay no income tax ( or no other major tax contributions ) then you contribute nothing to the pie.

So why be entitled to a vote and a say on the distributing of the pie ?

With your average pleb more interested in what Kim wore to the Met gala this week than the impeachment, its only going to get worse.

Its easier to distract the masses than it used to be.

"washing machines are not working like they used to, i know this because women tell me"...crowd goes wild.

I rest my case.

When no matter who you vote for you get globalization and colonization....You have to wonder if the game is rigged.

Our problems are not political but social

Years ago the Brexit vote would have been accepted because people would have known that was the right thing to do and the consequences of going against democracy. Now there is widespread corruption and a self interest culture.

There is a connection to the growth of individualism and the 'citizen of nowhere' demographic.....more often people from large cities who have lost previous generation's connections to the land.

True, we have a country where, for a large number of people, the very idea of patriotism or nationalism is seen as unquestionably negative. I think that's very dangerous as it ignores the natural order.

Yep, Orwell wrote about them and he knew that demographic very well as he was on that side of the tracks.

Something about how they would rather steal from a church collection than sing the national anthem.....that kind of intellectual snobbery that only an excess of individualism can incubate.

I was with a group of lefties in Sardinia in the summer. They were very quick to praise the culture of the Sardinian people and how proud the people were of that culture. They turned on me as soon as I said everyone should be proud of their culture as they assumed quite rightly I was referring to British culture.

I resisted the temptation to point out that the Sardinian culture they were so in love with also includes one of the most racist football clubs in Europe.

"British culture bad everyone else good."
