My world, if you have read my past comments, is wide and full.

It involves a variety of elements. One of which is taking up almost all my time at the moment so very little left for places like this which, believe it or not, come quite low on my list of priorities. I drop by here primarily to keep myself aware of the attitudes on the dark side of humanity.

Factory farms are very difficut to gain access to. The only video you are likely to get of how they actually operate is from people breaking in to film them as they are protected by the meat industry. There are many videos circulating of terrible practices going on in supposedly 'high welfare' farms as well as factory farms.
The workers are paid minimum wages and are doing work that is unrewarding and mentally and emotionallly draining. Animals are crammed in and given growth hormones to make them grow at unnatural rates.
In the UK 30% of all antibiotics are fed to farm animals to protect them from disease.
There is a real possibility that, as was the case with bird flu, mad cow disease and the current coronavirus that any future pandemic will begin in animals and be transmitted to humans. It may begin in a wet market or a factory farm but people should consider their food choices more carefully in order to reduce the likelihood of future pandemics occuring again.
