Couldn't agree more. Mentioned it before that this pandemic has shown just how selfish people can be, even with minor inconveniences such as mask wearing. As unpopular as it would have been Johnson needed to make tougher decisions earlier, especially over the borders, as it was clear that people would still travel if they still could. Not wanting to make unpopular decisions isn't leadership; it's the complete opposite.

I suspect 'Freedom Day' will NOT be 21st June.All the messages seem to suggest an extension to 2 weeks or even a month.

We have pivoted from expecting the country to reopen once the elderly and vulnerable were protected, to waiting for all the over-50s to be double-jabbed. Probably children will be not far behind.

The darned goalposts have been moved as politicians are in thrall to doom-laden 'Experts' who would have us locked down for months on end.We are on a slippery slope.The vaccine roll-out has been a huge success and continues at a pace,vaccines are working yet we still want restrictions to continue.Any delay is yet another death-knell for businesses.

Fine. I’m getting plenty of oxygen as I now don’t wear a mask unless it’s to get through the door of somewhere (mainly the supermarket) and never would outdoors, or in the car, and the pubs and restaurants I’ve been in either nobody wears them or I chuckle at the strange souls wearing them walking to the toilet in a pub. It’s getting more hilarious how the fear stricken people in England cling onto their security blanket masks sticking to what the hypocrites in government tell them. Enough now. The wet flannels have had their 15 month fix. More and more people will ignore this guff from 21st June whatever the decision is, and I see you don’t mind more of this.

The variant went from a variant "Under investigation" to a variant of "Concern".
People were still expected to take tests and quarantine whilst the variant was "Under investigation".

The Public Enquiry will be wide-ranging,covering a raft of matters and I am not going to pre-judge its findings.

whilst generally a supporter of the Government I think that the travel rules this time have been a disaster.
Everything should have been a no go until we could relax properly - none of the traffic light system - really poor.
The Indian variant is a disaster and all parties are to blame but if the Government gave them the chance to come home then you just knew they were going to break the rules when they got back and now here we are!
Cases, admissions and possibly soon deaths will all be from Bradford, Bolton and so on up north, Leicester in the Midlands and West London/Middlesex down here - it is just a joke!
