This will be an incredibly tough game. 2-0 loss I think.

Yes, it more then likely will be, they will play in the same manner as Southampton only much much harder with the physical stuff, b******s is what Watford are ..so please people do not get upset with this result if it goes tits up! lol

0-1 or 0-2 sadly.

If Mighty Max plays I think he will be buried alive !

Without any doubt, it would be cruel for him and very silly of Mr Hodgson, but then again what do I know.

We really must just target Zaha because ceratainly don't do that against anyone else.

Some might say we have been a bit soft in general on occasions.

Even against Liverpool our win was more down to good play (and them being poor) rather than any roughhouse tactics.

Not denying some of our players have given Zaha a tough time though!

The games I've seen suggest you have picked up since toughening up. Against Liverpool you were, I hate to say it, excellent; but there were still some crunching 50/50s that were borderline. We have been too soft the last couple of years but signings like Cahill and McCarthy have given us a bit more of a backbone. You aren't the only team to try and kick Wilf out of games, but your captain was the first to actually admit it. I imagine your players will feel Pearson's breath down their neck if they don't go into each game giving 100% and so I'll expect no less on Saturday. I don't expect to be entertained and providing you can keep 11 men on the pitch I reluctantly concede that you'll probably win...unless Wilf decides to get back in the game and make mugs out of you

I am at a loss to understand why a lot of you are in fear of Watford.

Have a look where they are in the table.
Their away from is dire.
Their disciplinary record is no worse than anyone else in the division.
Troy Deeney admitted that they take turns to kick Wilf. Big WHOOPITY DO. Every team kicks Wilf.
We are not playing Juventus, It is Watford for crying out load. Get a grip of yourselves.

I think the biggest fear is that Watford will want it more, or perhaps better articulated, will outwork us.

This is certainly my biggest fear, apart from the Liverpool match where we could well of nicked a point or even 3, and maybe Newcastle the other day, we have been outworked in almost every game I have seen this season and as a season ticket holder who occasionally travels away also with access to sky sports and BT sport I would say that is most games.

We don't have enough quality to simply beat teams on that merit and in this division it always looks like an impossible task if the other team is outworking you.

That said, I'm not too pessimistic about Watford but nor am I particularly optimistic, I can't see there being more than 1 goal in it.

Here's to you the famous red and blue.....

Fair point - we hadn't won in 5 previous games giving away quite a few goals (certainly wish we had someone like Cahil in our defence..) often when in front.

The game on Saturday was out of the blue but it helped we had Sarr back to give us some form of pace in attack as an outlet.

Without him we'd looked one dimensional and very slow.

Scoring those 2 goals so quickly then getting gifted the 3rd gave us that comfort.

Liverpool for once seemed to lack ideas and didn't threaten at all which was surprising.

Our main Achilles heal has been defending set plays - think we have let in the most and ceratainly not scored from many.

We probably have a better looking disclipline record as Holebas doesn't play now - that is someone I admit wasn't afraid to put a foot in!

Just a small reminder that (characteristically) So-Watford signed the animal known as Craig Pawson last summer.

Predictable style of match then. It won't be pretty and Wilf will lose his rag, obviously. Hopefully Anthony Taylor will try to make up for past mistakes...

I think that Watford has started poorly - which is why they are where they are in the table. Their form since Pearson came in has been much better.
We should Respect that, however tough they play. They played well vs 'Pool.

not got a great feeling about this one, think that if they score first they may get a second. If we can keep them at bay, then we could nick a win.

I'm not in fear of Watford, but I do think they are going to be difficult and aggressive opponents. Watford have been much improved under Pearson and their players are better than their position suggests. I think their targeting of Wilf is perhaps why so many of us see them as thugs, plus the fact they have a convicted thug as their captain. Admittedly, last time out they were not especially aggressive and Troy spent the whole game crying to the ref.

Harry the Hornet, Capoue and Deeney have all conspired to make them more of a rival than they ever were, and now they have Nigel 'McArthur Strangler' Pearson that only adds to it! Personally I'm hoping it'll be a lively encounter and more of an old-school game and we smash them, but Roy does seem to keep the team very disciplined (Wilf aside), so it seems unlikely. If it was a choice between Watford and Brighton getting relegated I'd choose the former, as the Brighton rivalry is far more fun when we get to play them

Edit: it should also be noted that since we last played them they have had three red cards, whereas prior to Nigel's appointment they'd only had one.

es...

I wouldn't worry too much about him (be on the bench anyway) - he'd have to catch up with anyone before trying to tackle/hack etc them.

Must admit I was hoping he'd improve our defence in terms of strength and ability in the air but hasn't been the case.

We started well under Pearson (despite having some players sent off - one via VAR) but certainly had been on an iffy run before the Liverpool game.

Be up to us to build on that but I wouldn't fear us - some probably raised their game as it was on TV against the top side with no pressure or expectation.

Credit to you for coming on here and talking rationally/reasonably about this fixture. However, there is undoubtedly some bad blood between the fans/teams, firstly due to the playoff game and the FA semi, then subsequently the battering of Wilf over the past few games.

I'd love to see a free-flowing expansive and exciting game, but I fear what we'll get is a war of attrition, with the ref getting his ear severely bent by both teams. Sarr is definitely a future star and on his way to big things, much like Zaha 5 years back, so it would be a bit poetic if he got raked by Luka in the first five minutes
