Wisbech - we agree for a change.
The Home Office has serious flaws right now.
Is it lack of numbers or lack of the right skills - I have no idea - not good though

So why fight, and in this case lose, a long legal battle to not be named.

But I mean after 13 years of the tories isn't it just business as usual?

"We've learned today that someone who's given hundreds of thousands to a British political party has, in the words of the judge, been a person of importance in proceedings before the court about a major money-laundering enterprise.

It's a bit like Andersen's punch.

How would you feel if you had done nothing wrong and your name was all across the media. I would certainly be pissed off but most of us don't have the money to fight it.

Starmer and Sue Grey were in cahoots when she was burying Boris and the BBC has reported what it had to only - the bare minimum - and to me it is big news.
Suella Braverman is caught speeding and does nothing more than try and arrange a private speed awareness course - not trying to avoid any penalty and this news is the second item on the webpage reporting that we need an inquiry.
They are just so transparently left it is embarrassing.
Refund the BBC

Agreed much ado about nothing.

By the way suppose one of us had to attend one of these courses and when you arrived you bumped into her and a battery of photographers. Next day there you are all over the papers and you boss wants to know whey you failed to tell him?

She wanted to arrange the course for her convenience but I doubt that others attending the same course would want the publicity either.

It's not just now, they have existed for many years. Nor is it limited to the Home Office. I suspect it's a combination of factors. Understaffing, lack of motivation, over-complicated and contradictory regulations and increased demand. I have seen some idiotic and very late decisions made by junior staff that then get elevated to a more senior level by me, resulting in longer delays and more convoluted explanations to try to justify the stupid decision. Ten years ago I took the Home Office to an Appeal Court and won. I am still waiting for my costs to be repaid.

It has been proved elsewhere that he has been complicit in wrong doing. Just not in the UK.

Of course, they weren't in cahoots! She has the highest reputation for integrity. Which is why she was chosen to look at Johnson's behaviour.

Braverman tried to avoid being spotted and outed. That's genuine news. She is a hypocrite.

Nothing left/right involved. Except in certain minds.

The courses are virtual these days and before you start you have a private 5 mins with the lecturer in which they check your details and you can choose the name you want to use. Anonymity is guaranteed. She really ought to have known that!!!!

She could have easily disguised herself and used another name.

I was on one 2 weeks ago. I have no idea who the other people were. I hardly glanced at their faces. There is no need to say anything either, if you choose not to.

She could easily have avoided this story.

Okay I was going by my friend she had to attend one in person only last year and was embarrassed about the whole thing. If there had been a bank of photographers outside because of a celeb she would have been mortified.

If you're saying it's all by computer then I don't see a problem.

In-person courses are still available, but why choose one if you can just sit in front of a screen, watch some videos and tick a few boxes from time to time? Unless you cannot use a computer and we know Braverman can.

Thank God the people running them are not public sector and in dispute with the Government. If you think it wouldn’t have got out you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Personally I think she isn’t a particularly nice person, but she enquired, realised it wasn’t possible and then took the points.

Personally I’d rather a Government minister works on important things, as if she had taken the course no doubt people would have been bleating about how she wasn’t working.

Sorry to hear you got caught though - must have been weird for you to sit back and have to listen to someone else dispense advice.
