This will have done a lot of damage to the reputation of the BBC and seriously undermined its independence as a result of the Conservatives’ sleaze and cronyism.

It's actually become quite normal, 13 years of the tories looking after their mates and hang the country.

They don't resign unless forced to and never apologise either.

And its under threat, a precious national gem, its time for political appointments to end, the BBC being publicly funded must not mean it is a state broadcaster.

I heard the Chairman of the Select Committee on Broadcasting say today that removing politics from the selection process is impossible because if it is delegated to an independent review Board they themselves still have to be appointed.

I totally disagree. This needs to be done independently and perhaps that Committee, which is always cross-party, could assume the oversight and senior appointment role.

I note that the BBC main headline online this morning is a Tory donor one on money laundering.
There are without doubt more important stories even if this one needs reporting.
They just cannot stop themselves.

And yet the BBC see fit to make this the main news story.
Their patheticness is unfathomable.

So why fight, and in this case lose, a long legal battle to not be named.

But I mean after 13 years of the tories isn't it just business as usual?
