On the 23rd, how appropriate that the last George to play for Palace left the club 23 years ago. The much-loved Mr Ndah.

35 players called George have played for the club.

The above stats are from the HOL player database.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Been looking forward to St Georges since the lockdown started .Put my George cross up out the front and will have a few beers out the garden later when it warms up a bit . The Mrs will join in not because its St Georges in particular but that it will be wine time again . Its been wine time since Christmas (1980 ) or should that be whine time .

Fecking piss head neads to slow down a bit ,I brought her a rowing machine and told her to loose some weight but its still in the box , £299 if anyones interested . Its got Velcro foot straps but I think it was a bit of a rip off .

Happy St Georges Day !

And we still need a striker

Elpis I am a fellow sufferer - how much is that rowing machine going for second hand? Whine time, vodka time, pie time, tell me about it.

One St. George’s Day, maybe 1978, pubs had an offer of beer for 5p a pint but it had to be an old shilling rather than a 5p piece. A friend of mine worked in the Victoria tube ticket office and raided the tills (replaced - not nicked) for all the shillings. He came in the pub with a carrier bag full. A lot of beer got put away, and thrown over people, that night.

I enjoyed it. Always good to have an excuse to watch a bit of old footage.

It ended up leading me to this... [Link]

Can't think of many games where we've scored such a good collection of goals.

He seems positively recent for me. I was thinking of St George Wood.
