I’m currently using a van - a Mercedes Sprinter.

I want to keep the tyre pressures up - 65psi at the rear and 44psi at the front - but I understand that my Halfords 12v (cigarette socket) inflator that I use for my car won’t be up to the task.

Does anyone have experience of inflating tyres to those kind of pressures, and if so what piece of kit do you use? I’ve tried using the machine at a petrol station but it’s a bit of a pain TBH.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

The petrol station machines are easy and always available at the moment. The push down pumps at home might work.

It's only 5 bar so your halfords one should be rated. Most go up to 6 bar or more.
14.5 psi = 1 bar

I drove Mercedes sprinters at work for 20 years and always used the garage pumps tbh. I always found the 44 at the front a bit spongy, so I used to run at 55 on the front. My boss quite often commented on how I got a lot more mileage out of my tyres than other drivers.

My biggest issue is the silly little bottle jack and wheel brace they give you to put the spare on. It was easier and safer to call the breakdown service out to do it, they had massive trolley jacks and wheel braces with so much more leverage.
