Undercut by foreign workers one minute, poleaxed by pandemic policy the next. 2020 is shaping up to be pretty sh!t for the working man. They will be the first to go under at a time like this too, whereas the big players and corporations will hang on and bounce back, cutting themselves a further slice of a pie they're already gorging themselves on.

Yep.

Mortgage Brokers, Surveyors, Lawyers and Estate agents donít keep people poor, they are just cogs in an antiquated process.

Thereís only one reason why property is so expensive, supply and demand.

You can call me a right wing w&nker if you wish but the absolute truth is that exponential house price rises coincide directly with our open door immigration policy.

Wish it didnít as we already have tens of thousands of pages in here covering immigration, however thatís the truth. The more people who live here, the more property is worth. Simple logistics.

And the older the population gets the moore immigrants are required to work to fund the benefits and health care the voting elderly population demand.

Tricky one this.

Immigrants grow old too.

That's an unaffordable ponzi scheme, which requires ever more immigrants......which even if you ignore all the other social problems is not the answer.

Automation is part of the answer.

I wonder if the UK could start reclaiming land from the sea to get more space.

China and Saudi do it....No doubt this has been considered I wonder if at some point this will be looked at more seriously despite the cost.....I liked the idea of Boris island some years back.

It's already being explored on a smaller scale in Portsmouth and probably in other areas too.

We mostly do it in this country to try to mitigate coastal erosion, by putting back what gets eroded. For all the talk of a bridge from Wales/Scotland to Ireland, why not just fill the ocean with dirt and have a service station in the middle too?

If there's any spare dirt going around I would rather fill up that 26 mile hole at Dover.

Point taken.....but we certainly need to do something.

The Portsmouth idea, at first glance, looks sensible.
