On the subject of Brighton I was involved in a contretemps with a Brighton oaf who was cock-a-hoop after their home win against Arsenal. I informed him that we were above them in the table (We are still clear of them - 9 pts), that we had finished above them the previous 2 seasons (They were 17th last season to our 12th, and 15th to our 11th the season before) and that their net spend this season and the previous two was around £195 Million whereas ours over that period was virtually nothing. Edited by Willo (01 Jul 2020 9.00am) I think this highlights an interesting point Willo. The grass always does seem to be greener, I remember taking great umbrage towards a colleague who supported West Ham when they brought in a few players a couple of seasons ago, doing the kind of transfer business I could only dream of for Palace, and it didn't work out so well evidently. I have been worried about our playing personnel for a number of years now and like many despaired at the lack investment in it. Yet, somehow, we seem to make it through each season. I was on cloud 9 after Bournemouth but quickly returned to 'Oh, we are doomed and look awful' on Monday night. Loathed to admit it, but I always think of Brighton as having far superior style to ours and investing well in players but the weeds remain below us, well below in fact!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

We've all had a good moan (and rightly so - at least as far as the first half performance is concerned) and we've moaned again about: Just be thankful we don't have this club's problems after all their spending etc.
