I enjoyed this

What total mess ups have you made?

I once drove a Landrover I was delivering to Ashford Middlesex in thick snow. When I got there I looked at the delivery note which clearly stated KCC. Took me a couple of minutes to figure out that was Kent County Council.

Laying vinyl in a kitchen we needed to move a very old fashioned dish washer. My mate, who thought he knew about plumbing, disconnected it. We lifted it and the pipe erupted spewing out scalding hot water.
The lady of the house came home to find her hall carpet soaked up to the front door and two desperadoes standing on boxes sweeping boiling water into the back garden.
Another time on a carpet job we had to cut a door. Rented a Skilsaw and cut the top off the door. Another happy customer.

I hope you explained it was a new design of eccentric stable door as you screwed a hinge onto the off cut

Didn’t think of that one but it would have needed a pin headed giraffe to see over the gap and they’re not common in Regent Street where the office was. We just rehung the door with it wedged open hoping the bloke wouldn’t notice until we’d gone. He did.

My mate was asked to panel out the plumbers new van with plywood. It looked great inside unfortunately all the screws were too long and went right through the sides. It looked like a mad max vehicle. He only kept his job because the plumber needed a driver as he was banned for drink driving.

Once stole two Grolsch glasses from the pub. Had a few drinks as you do. The pub was a good two miles from my house. I merrily made my way home and dropped and shattered the glasses on my drive way.

5 years ago was walking my dogs through local woods. A plumpish middle-aged lady was walking her Labrador puppy towards me.
With my two pugs running towards her, she picked up her puppy, only for the dogs legs to get entangled in the neckline of her T-shirt. Within a split-second her puppy had dragged her T-shirt down , exposing one of her naked breasts.
"ooops", she exclaimed, pulling her T-shirt back up.

Like a true gentleman, I pretended not to have seen anything, .....and put my camera discreetly back in my pocket.

We used to take on work experience / junior painters.
It was always a lot of hassle .
On one one occassion we were under the cosh, so I thought I'd risk leaving the lad on his own for the day simply to paint a ceiling & walls in a bedroom, while I went to help the others with a large job that had to be finished.
He had been with us a few months now & the room was virtually empty.
What could go wrong?
Came back to white walls & a yellow ceiling.

I was putting a beer bottle into the freezer to have a ten minute chill.

Shoving it in sideways, pushing the bottom of the bottle hard. And then realizing the fecker was an open bottle.

Filled my freezer up with warm beer

Putting my glass bottle of Tizer in my parents chest freezer for a school trip the next day. Bottle exploded overnight and chest freezer was embedded with glass and Tizer when inspected in the morning.

steep learning curve, sometimes

Few years back I was walking round a remote lake on a blistering hot day looking for new fishing venues, stumbled across a naked couple who had obviously been swimming, she was giving him a BJ, the bloke looked up at me, I said afternoons and kept walking, I don’t know who was the most embarrassed.me or him.
